attheexhibitioncentre.We'reexpectingthisyear'sInternationalTravelExhibitiontoattract

over10,000visitorsaday,ladiesandgentlemen,andyouareamongthetwohundredextra

staffrecruitedtohelplookafterthem.Now,tohelpthingsrunsmoothly,wehavedivided

youintofourteams-theblueteam,thegreenteam,theredteam,andtheyellowteam.So

firstI'llexplainhowtheteamsaredividedup,andthenwe'llbegivingyoucolour-coded

T-shirtssowecanidentifyyoumoreeasily.Firstofall,thosewhowillbelookingafterthe

phonesandhandlingallcallsregardingtheexhibition,youwillbeontheredteam.Now,

MyparticularinterestisAsiaticlions,whichareasub-speciesofAfricanlions.It'salmost

ahundredthousandyearssincetheAsiaticlionssplitoffanddevelopedasasub-species.<Q31>

AtonetimetheAsiaticlionwaslivingasfarwestasGreeceandtheywerefoundfromthere,

inabandthatspreadeastthroughvariouscountriesoftheMiddleEast,allthewayto

India.Inmuseums,youcannowseeGreekcoinsthathaveclearimagesoftheAsiatic

liononthem<Q32>.Mostofthemaredatedataround500B.C.However,Europesawitslast

Asiaticlionroamingfreetwothousandyearsago<Q33>.Overthenextnineteenhundredyears

thenumbersofAsiaticlionsintheotherareasdeclinedsteadily,butitwasonlyin

thenineteenthcenturythattheydisappearedfromeverywherebutIndia.
