线)radiation-basedpassivecoolinghasbeeninvestigatedsince2014,butchallenges,mainlythe
expensiveandunsustainabledesign,havegreatlylimitedtheirlarge-scaleandwidespread
application.Besides,theimbalanceincoolingabilityofthesecoatingsduringthedayandnight
toleadtogreatday-nighttemperaturedifferencesasmoreheatislostthangainedatnight.
Thesolutionthereforerequiresa“smart“mechanismthatcanbothenhancedaytime
coolingandminimizenighttimeheatloss.Todothis,theresearcherscreatedanewsmart
coatingcomprisedofconventionalbuildingmaterials,includingtitaniumdioxidenanoparticles,
fluorescentmicroparticles,andglassmicrospheresthatwereengineeredtoreflectmostofthe
sunlight.Specifically,thetitaniumdioxideparticleseffectivelyreflectsunlightthroughlight
scattering(撒播)whilethefluorescentparticlesincreasetheamountofreflectionbychanging
theabsorbedsunlightintofluorescenceemissions,whichdrivemoreheatawayfromthe
