Thestudyidentifiesthedifferencesbetweenmaleandfemalepilotsin

termsofcircumstancesofthecrashandthetypeofpilotserrorinvolved.

"Crashesofgeneralaviationaircraftaccountfor85percentofallaviation

deathsintheUnitedStates.Thecrashrateformalepilotszasformotor

andthepiloterrorinvolvedwerecategorizedandcodedwithoutknowledge

ofpilotgender.

Theresearchersfoundthatlossofcontrolonlandingortakeoffwasthe

mostcommoncircumstanceforbothsexes,leadingto59percentoffemalepilots,

crashesand36percentofmales.Experiencingmechanicalfailure,running

outoffuelzandlandingtheplanewiththelandinggearupwereamongthe

factorsmorelikelywithmales,whilestalling(失速)wasmorelikelywith
