balanceworkandsupportingchildren,elderlyorsickfamilymembers.

Thestudysaidthatself-employedwomen-over85%ofwhomhaveparentingandcaring

responsibilities—reportedapaypenaltyof£8,000.

Womenwithcaringresponsibilitieswerealsofoundtobetwiceaslikelytoturndownwork

duetohighlygenderedworkandcaregivingstructuresinclassicalmusic.
