seaturtles.Theywereintherescuerracetosavethesmallestseaturtlesintheworld?atalittleover
2feetlong,andtheyhadbeenfoundwithverylowtemperatures.Everyyear,hundredsoftheturtles
followwarmoceancurrentsnorthfromtheirhatchingsitesintheGulfofMexico,becometrapped
inthecoldAtlanticandarethenrescuedfromCapeCodbyvolunteers,whotakethemtowildlife
centresalongwarmercoastlines.
RegnanteisavolunteerwithTurtlesFlyToo,acharitythatprovidesairtransportlorthe
strickenturtles.OnWednesday,shetookoffwiththeturtlesfromnearBostoninaplanepilotedby
herhusband.TheywereboundforNewOrleansbutstormsforcedthemtochangecourseandrefuel
twice.Then,atChattanooga.Tennessee,astonedamagedthepropeller(螺旋桨)."Itwasjustone
thingafteranother,RegnantetoldTheNewYorkTimes,justkindofwantedtosay,'Guys,it's
goingtobeOK'.”
Forturtles,beingoutofthewaterandintransitforalongperiodwasstressful.Luckily,ahappy
