Regnanteandherhusband,Tingley,knewtheywereintroublewhentheyfoundthattheyhad

tostayattheairportonthenightbeforeThanksgivingwithagroundedplaneand30turtles(海龟).

Thetworescuerswerepartofavolunteerefforttosavehundredsofseaturtlesthatwerewashedup

closetodeathonthebeachesofMassachusetts.

Thecoupleurgentlyneededtofindtemperature-controlledaccommodationfortheendangered

seaturtles.Theywereintherescuerracetosavethesmallestseaturtlesintheworld?atalittleover

2feetlong,andtheyhadbeenfoundwithverylowtemperatures.Everyyear,hundredsoftheturtles

followwarmoceancurrentsnorthfromtheirhatchingsitesintheGulfofMexico,becometrapped

inthecoldAtlanticandarethenrescuedfromCapeCodbyvolunteers,whotakethemtowildlife

centresalongwarmercoastlines.

RegnanteisavolunteerwithTurtlesFlyToo,acharitythatprovidesairtransportlorthe

strickenturtles.OnWednesday,shetookoffwiththeturtlesfromnearBostoninaplanepilotedby

herhusband.TheywereboundforNewOrleansbutstormsforcedthemtochangecourseandrefuel

twice.Then,atChattanooga.Tennessee,astonedamagedthepropeller（螺旋桨）."Itwasjustone

thingafteranother,RegnantetoldTheNewYorkTimes,justkindofwantedtosay,'Guys,it's

goingtobeOK'.”

Forturtles,beingoutofthewaterandintransitforalongperiodwasstressful.Luckily,ahappy

endingwasdelivered.Twoheatedtrucksweresentnearby,wheretheturtlesspentthenight.On
