AccessServerConnectionService

ThecoreexecutableforTahitstheAccessServerserviceitself(awacese).ThisisaWin32servicethatperformsallconnectivityandbridgingfunctionalityrequiredfortheproduct.Forsecurityreasons,thismodulecontainsnoUIandisworkableandtestableasastandalonemodule.Foradetaileddescriptionofitsfeatures,pleaseseetheAccessServerDesign.

AccessServerManager(UserInterface)

Foradministrationandconfigurationpurposes,theAccessServerludesauserinterface(asconsole.exe).ThisAccessServerManagerenablestheadministratortomanagetheservice,applysecuritysettings,andconfigurelicenseinformation.ItalsocontainsacurrentviewofallconnectivitygoingthroughtheAccessServer.Foradetaileddescriptionofitsfeatures,pleaseseetheAccessServerDesign.

Installation

TheAccessServerludesastandardWin32installationprogrambuiltusingInstallShield11Edition.AseparateCD, tofthepcACD,isluded.ItcontainsaCDStartforlaunchingtheinstallationprocess,andaccessing ation.

Licensing

TahitntegrateswiththeSymantecEnterpriseLicensingSystem(ELS).LicensingisusedtolimitthenumberofpcAhoststhatcanbedockedtotheAccessServeratanyime.ThelatestapprovedreleaseofELSwillbeusedinTahiti.

LegacypcAHostPatching

Inordertoallowpre-ArubapcAhoststodocksecurelyandaccuraytotheAccessServer,patcheswillbedevelopedthatcanbeappliedtoaninstalled11.5.3product.In ceofrequiredUIchanges,atoolwillbedevelopedthatconfiguresahostobjecttodocktoanAccessServer.Thistoolwillberegistrybased.ThepatchesandthetoolwillbeludedontheshipTahitiCD.
