MiddleEastissuegenerallyreferstotheconflictsbetweenIsraelandPalestine.It’saregionalhotspotissuethathasextendedalongesttimecouldn’tbesolvedsincetheWorldWarTwo.MiddleEasthasanimportantstrategicpositionthatisconnectwithmanycountries’developmentinfuture.I’dliketoanalysistheIsraeli-Palestinianconflictinmyopinionfromfollow3parts:thehistoricaloriginofIsraeli-Palestinianconflict,keyfiguresinIsraeli-PalestinianconflictandthepresentconditionandoutlookofIsraeli-Palestinianconflict.

AccordingtotheJewishsacredwritings,whichbecametheHebrewBible,JewsaredescendedfromtheancientpeopleofIsraelwhosettledinthelandofCanaan,locatedbetweentheeasterncoastoftheMediterraneanSeaandtheJordanRiver.TheChildrenofIsraelsharedalineagethroughtheircommonancestors,Abraham,hissonIsaac,andIsaac’ssonJacob.TheChildrenofIsraelconsistedoftwelvetribes,eachdescendedfromoneofJacob'stwelvesons.Jacobandhistwelvesons,orsotheBibleasserts,leftCanaanduringaseverefamineandsettledinGoshenofnorthernEgypt.AtfirsttheywerewelcomedbyEgyptian,butafterafewyearstheydevelopedquicklyandtheirdescendantsincreasegreatly.TheEgyptianfearedthatJewsmaythreatentheirgovernment.ThereforeinEgypttheirdescendantswereenslavedbytheEgyptiangovernmentledbythePharaoh.After400yearsofslavery,YHWH,theGodofIsrael,senttheHebrewprophetMoses,amanfromthetribeofLevi,toreleasetheChildrenofIsraelfromEgyptianbondage.AccordingtotheBible,theHebrewsmiraculouslyemigratedoutofEgypt(aneventknownastheExodus),andreturnedtotheirancestralhomelandinCanaan.ThiseventmarkstheformationofIsraelasapoliticalnationinCanaan,in1400BC.

AftertheJewsreturnedtheirhome,theyhavetheirfirstunifiedkingdom,governedbyKingSaul.Howeverhundredsofyearslater,theyweredefeatedbyotherkingdoms,andmanyJewsbegantobeexiledfromthattime.ButwhenthelargescaleofJewswereexpelledfromtheirhomelandduringRomanConquest,calledtheDiaspora.,HerodtheGreatwasappointed"KingoftheJews"bytheRomanSenate,supplantingtheHasmoneandynasty(aJewishdynasty).Someofhisoffspringheldvariouspositionsafterhim,knownastheHerodiandynasty.ButtheempirewasoftencallousandbrutalinitstreatmentofitsJewishsubjects.In66CE,theJewsbegantorevoltagainsttheRomanrulersofJudea.TherevoltwasdefeatedbythefutureRomanemperorsVespasianandTitus.985villagesweredestroyedandmostoftheJewishpopulationofcentralJudaeawasessentiallywipedout,killed,soldintoslavery,orforcedtoflee.BanishedfromJerusalem,theJewishpopulationnowcentredonGalilee.JerusalemwasrenamedAeliaCapitolina.

Duringthefollowinghundredsofyears,Jewsexiledtoalotofcountriesandexperiencedalotofdisasters.Buttheynevergiveupthehopetoreturntotheirhomeland.Duringthe1870sand1880s,theJewishpopulationinEuropebegantomoreactivelydiscussimmigrationbacktoIsraelandthere-establishmentoftheJewishNationinitsnationalhomeland,fulfillingthebiblicalpropheciesrelatingtoShivatTzion.In1882thefirstZionistsettlement—RishonLeZion—wasfoundedbyimmigrantswhobelongedtothe"HoveveiZion"movement.ItwasTheodorHerzl(aJewishreporter)whobeganthestruggletoestablishastatefortheJews.AftertheFirstWorldWar,itseemedthattheconditionstoestablishsuchastatehadarrived:TheUnitedKingdomcapturedPalestinefromtheOttomanEmpire,andtheJewsreceivedthepromiseofa"NationalHome"fromtheBritish.ButlatertheJewishleadershipfoundthattheycouldn’trelyonBritain,sotheycreatedtheHaganahorganizationtoprotecttheirfarmsandKibbutzim.
