GRE写作总觉得时间紧,练习从这几点做起

GREIssue写作的考场实战中,广阔考生的首要痛点之一就是感觉时间特别紧迫:

要么面对一道很尬聊的题无从下手,比如像面对第146原题“无聊虽然伴随着自我满意,但是它会导致尴尬”,略微有些思路的时候一晃眼七八分钟已经过去。

要么强迫症爆发,非要在记忆宫殿中挤出来一个高大上的事例,并且逐字逐句精雕细琢,结果时间一到,连半个屏幕都没有写满。

面对这个痛点,我作为一名在北京新东方美研精英方案中专注一对一GRE写作培训的老师,通过大量的课堂实时写作批改中总结出了5个简洁粗暴的加速器。

我的原则是,实战至上,拒绝花拳绣腿,盼望能够关心大家剔除任何拖沓实战速度的累赘。

千万别跑题

提速之前,点题是3分上下的分水岭。有些题目设计得很微妙狡猾,假如想当然地发挥没有缜密地钻透彻题目真正的用意,那么往往会导致如下现象:考完试自我感觉极为良好,但是分数一出来却很低。

比如第55原题:

Themainbenefitofthestudyofhistoryistodispeltheillusionthatpeoplelivingnowaresignificantlydifferentfrompeoplewholivedinearliertimes.

这道题有的同学会争论我们为什么和以前的人们不一样,由于科技在不断颠覆,为什么又一样,由于我们的基因没那么突变,所以我们的激素,欲望,动机还是和古人一样。

以上的思路足够能让考生自我感觉良好,但是实际上却跑题了,和题目真正想考察的点几乎不搭边儿。

留意,这里题目要争论:学习历史的主要好处是否是让我们意识到我们和前人一样。我们应当深挖的是这个“好处”的缘由。

如历史让我们知道了自己和前人有着一样的欲望。比如嗜血让我们收获的好处是,在瞬息万变的当下社会,我们可以抓住这些根本的欲望来透过问题的表象直击核心,比如古罗马人把奴隶送上角斗场上来满意他们的嗜血欲。

现今社会虽然看上去人性化了许多,但是要设计一个爆款嬉戏,我们还是要着手于如何满意这个没怎么变的嗜血欲,于是便诞生了射击嬉戏“吃鸡”。

3个不纠结

第一,不能纠结辞藻的华丽,由于官方OG对于词汇的要求只有“effective”。

这就意味着我们是来穿着运动服跑鞋冲刺的,而非穿着礼服来品酒的,所以要表达“幸灾乐祸”,你不必非要用8秒想出来8秒钟拼错schadenfreude,而最好用3秒钟写出来“laughatothersbadluck”。

其次,不必纠结事例的真假,完全可以现编,由于官方OG规定hypotheticalexample是和realexample可以一样用的。

这也很人性化,究竟有些考题难度较大,像第36原题“Itisprimarilythroughouridentificationwithsocialgroupsthatwedefineourselves.”,我们假如难以想到Dr.dre通过认同匪帮说唱的社会群体来定义自己的音乐风格这样的真人真事,完全可以现编一个“小红通过认同瑜伽群体来定义内心深处的悄悄”。

第三,不必纠结政治性对错,依旧是OG的法规“thereisnorightorwrong”。所以面对US考官可以尽情批判特朗普付给艳星封口费,完全不用顾虑考官的什么爱国主义偏见而导致分数低。
