ganizetheirprojectsandmanageprocessafterclassesandpreparelessonscarefullybeforeclasses.Inordertostudyautonomously,learnersshouldbegreatlymotivated.Oncelearnersareinterestedinlearning,theywillbemoreeagertolearnandlovetolearnthaneverbefore.Meanwhile,theirlearningefficiencywillincreasegreatly.Theywilltakepartinlearningactively.Asalearner,hismostimportantthingistolearn.Iflearnerscannotrealizetheresponsibilityforlearning,theycanhardlylearnautonomouslyandmotively.Asateacher,heneedstohelpstudentstoestablishself-confidenceandoptimisticexpectation.Teacherscancreateaharmoniousandcheerfulclassroomatmospheretomakestudentsfeelsafeandintolerant.What’smore,teacherscanhelpstudentssetasuitablegoalforlearning.Inclassroomteaching,teachersshouldtrytomakethelearningtasksenjoyableandinterestingsothatstudentsmaybeinterestedinthem.Besides,praisingisalsoaneffectivewaytoarisestudents’motivation.3.2FollowingtheLearner-centeredApproachLearner-centeredapproachpromotesnewrelationshipsbetweenteachersandlearnersandencouragesautonomousstudyinEnglishlearning.Studentsarethemainbodyinthenewapproachratherthanthepassiverecipientinthetraditionalapproach.Ateacherinthelearner-centeredEnglishlanguageclassisbasicallyafacilitatoroflearning.Heshouldnotonlyhaveenormousprofessionalknowledge,butalsoshouldgraspappropriateteachingapproachandhaveabilitytoencouragelearning.Thelearner-centeredapproachisbeneficialforthedevelopmentofbothteachersandstudents,forthewholelanguageteachingprocessandfortheperfectionofthecurrenttestevaluationsysteminChina.3.2.1StressingLearningAbilityThesocietywherewearelivingtodayisdevelopingveryfast.Everydaywefacenewthings,newsituationsandchanges.Toadapttothequicklychangeablecircumstances,peoplehavetogetridofalotofinformation.Thusitseemsnotenoughforstudentstodependonschooleducationonlyandmanyexaminationsandhighscorescannothelpstudentstokeeppacewiththisnewworld.Learningabilitybecomesmoreimportantforpeopletoimprovethemselvesconsistently.LikeEnglishlanguagelearning,leavingschooldoesnotmeantheendofEnglishlanguagelearning,butmeanthebeginningofafurtherautonomousEnglishlearning.NomatterteachersorstudentsshouldpaymuchmoreattentiontoEnglishlearningabilitynothighscoresonexamination.Inlearner-centeredapproach,teachersemphasizeonimprovingstudents’learningabilityandcreativethinking.Theyrequirestudentstoselectlearningresources,methodandtimebythemselves.Studentsshouldhaveresponsibilityfortheirlearningwithoutthecontroloftheirteachers.Thislearner-centeredapproachissuperiortothetraditionalteacher-centeredapproach.3.2.2EstablishingaHarmoniousRelationshipTherelationshipbetweenteachersandstudentsisoneofthemostimportantaspectsinEnglishlearning.Nowadays,teachersshouldnotonlyactasstudents’teachers,butalsoastheirfriendstocreateademocraticandharmoniousrelationship.Firstly,everystudenthashisowndignityandrightsespeciallycollegestudents,theyhavetheirownminds,feelingsandneeds,soteachersshouldtrytheirbesttorespecteverystudentinordertocreateademocraticandharmoniousrelationship.Onlyifstudentsarerespectedcantheyfeeltheequalitybetweenteachersandstudents,andtheexistenceoftheirdignity.Thentheywillhavemotivationtostudyhard.Forthisreason,teachersshouldhavetheawarenessofdemocraticteaching,treatstudentsaswholehumanbeingsaswellasrespecttheirwills,rights.Secondly,teachersshouldtreattheirstudentssincerelyandlovethemdearly.Asateacher,hehasdutytoloveandtakecareofhisstudents,justlikehisownchildren.What’smore,studentswillpayoffteachers’sincerityandrespecttheirteacherduringthewholelife.SothisrelationshipbetweenteacherandstudentsisharmoniousandequalThisisalsowhatstudent-centeredapproachemphasizeson.3.2.3ConcerningDeepAboutStudents’NeedsInclassroom,teachersshouldknowtheirstudents’needsandinterests,theirlikesanddislikes,theirstrengthsandweaknesses.Theyarenotanytextbookwriters.Iftextbooksarenotsuitabletoanindividualteachingsituation,teachersshouldfindwaystousethetextbooksinordertomeetstudents’needs,sotheywillchangeothersuitablebooksorfindotherusefultextbooks.Inaddition,teachersneedtohelpstudentsformagoodbehavioranddevelopanawarenessoflearningstyles.Sostrengtheningconcernaboutstudents’needsisveryimportant.3.3RaisingaSenseofLearningAutonomyThesenseoflearningautonomyistheessentialmindforautonomouslearning.Withoutthesenseoflearningautonomy,autonomouslearningwillbejustlikewaterwithoutsource.Establishingasenseoflearningautonomymeansthatstudentsshouldrealizeveryclearlythatitistheythemselvesnottheirteachersorparentswhoshouldtaketheresponsibilityforthelearning.Theyshouldraiseasenseoflearningautonomyinthefollowingthreeparts.Firstofall,studentsmusteliminatethepsychologicaldependence.Inlanguagelearning,moststudentshavebeenusedtodependingontheirteachers,theirparentsandsomeotherouterconditions.Theyneverstudyorlearnbythemselves,sothatmanycollegestudentscan’tlearnautonomouslywithoutteachers.Thestudentswhoknowhowtolearningautonomyorganizetheirprojectsanddecideormanageprocesstobemadeonthem,theyborrowusefulbooksfromlibrary,andtheyreciteEnglishwords,phraseandbeautifularticlesthenusedintheirownstudy.Theypr
