can"hear"themselvesbeingchewedon.
Researchersassumethatplantsachievethisremarkableabilitythankstoproteinsthatrespondto
pressurefoundwithintheircellmembranes.Vibrationscausepressurechangeswithinthecell,whichcan
changethebehavioroftheproteins;however,additionalstudywillberequiredtoconfirmordenythis
theory.
