Ⅰ.OverviewTheobligation

Beforeloadingcommences

[deadspace,brokenspace]reducedtotheminimum.(2)TheHighestPossiblePortSpeedThedistributionofcargointheholdsmustbesuchastoassist

[facilitate,help]correctandspeedycargohandling.Itiscustomary

(4)TheSafetyofShipandCrew（船员）Theoverriding

[mostimportant]considerationisforthesafetyofshipandcrew.Thisimplies

[means,denotes]thatthecargoisstowedwithdueregardtotheship’sstability,trimandstrengthintheloadedcondition.

Thetotalweightloadedmustnotexceedtheload-line（载重吃水线）markspermitted

[maximumloading].Furthermore,particularattentionmustbedrawntothepropermannerintheuseofequipmentandlaborprovidedbytheportandalsointheapplicationofship’sgear（设备）tocargohandlingprocedures（操作）.Incargoloading,anefficientwayofcargoseparation

Besides,theinsuranceclaimontheship,arisingfromdamageduetoineffectivesecuringandlashing,canbehigh.Theterm“dangerousgoods”[hazardousgoods]incargocarriagereferstothehazardous（危险）articles,whichcandamageothergoods,materialsortheenvironmentduetotheirchemicalorphysicalproperties

（属性）[natures].Examplesareexplosives,inflammables

[flammables],poisons,corrosives（易腐物品）[erosive]andradioactivesubstances.TheyaredividedintodifferentclassesaccordingtotheI.M.D.G.CodeworkedoutbyIMO.Ineverycasewheredangerousgoodsarecarried,theI.M.D.G.Codemustbeconsulted

[referredto]bythecarrierforproperinformation.Neithershipper,norship’sofficershouldrelyonmemoryorassumedknowledgeofanyconsignment.Itisthechiefofficer’sdutytoinspect（检查）withutmostrigor
