2、about the environmental problems. The number of the vocabulary in this topic is 45. Some of them are abstract and difficult to pronounce. It is difficult for students to master all these words in a period. Section A focuses on the causes and forming of sandstorms. Section B is mainly about the prote
3、ction of the environment. The vocabulary centers on the theme. It arouses students awareness to protect the environment and enables them to think about how to do it.Teaching important points:1 Key words: sand, although, none, rubbish, wild, nobody, worst, situation, punish, perhaps, everybody2 Stude
4、nts learn the word formation and enlarge the vocabulary through different ways.3 Arouse students awareness to protect the environment.Teaching difficult points:1The differences between the words: none, no one/nobody.2 Students can write down the new words while listening3 Students can use the learnt
5、 words to form a passage in limited time2. Analyzing the studentsAs a whole class, Class 7 is a medium-level class. Based on the two years of junior English study, the students pronunciation has been improved and they have already acquired some skills of pronouncing new words. They need to enlarge t
6、heir vocabulary, using the methods of word formation. Besides, the students have adapted themselves to English learning through various activities, and they have acquired some independent and cooperative learning abilities. Therefore, the students wont have much difficulty engaging in the tasks desi
7、gned in this period. But fully taking part in the class activities is still a problem, for not every student is active enough. Teaching Aims and Demands1 Knowledge objectivesLearn 24 new words and phrases from Section A and B.Words: sand, sandstorm, desert, although, reduce, completely, user, none,
8、rubbish, spit, wild, nobody, untidy, worst, rude, behavior, situation, punish, perhaps, everybody, nowherePhrases: change into, human being, here and there2 Ability objectives = 1 * GB3 Students can pronounce most of the words by themselves. Students learn the rules of word-formation and enlarge the
9、ir vocabulary.eg. use = 3 * GB3 Students can master the usage of important words eg. although = 4 * GB3 Students can tell the differences between the similar words eg. none and no one = 5 * GB3 students can make sentences and even write a short passage with the new words.3 Moral objectivesInspire st

11、tandard, students should be the center of class and teachers should be an instructor not a commander. Thus, in this period, I use the task-based approach which aims at providing opportunities for learners to use what they have learnt. The student-centered method enables students to become the main r
12、ole during the class, fully participating in the activities, and achieve the objectives set by the teacher. Then ask students the question “Why do we need to save the earth?”.Make use of the song to draw students attention and lead in the learning of new words of Section A and B of Topic 2, Unit 2Task 1: Learning.Learn the new vocabulary
15、 of Section A B in the specific language environment, using pictures.(10 minutes)Students say out some sentences according to the pictures. Observe and summarize the differences between none and no one/nobody.Finish the multiple choices.Connect the 24 words and phrases in specific language environme
16、nt. Many sentences come from the texts of Section A and B. Lead students to observe and summarize.Enable students to have a basic impression of the new words, including pronunciation, spelling and Chinese meaning.Task 2: Reading new words.(4 minutes)Students read the new words by themselves.Correct
17、the mistakes if students dont read the words correctly.Consolidate the words and phrases again. Get prepared for the next task. Improve students ability of observation and summarizing. Cut down language barriers for the second period (Section A).Task 3:Group competition(3 minutes)Students stand up t
18、o speak out the words quickly according to the Chinese meaning.Record the points of each group and give comments.Check if most students can read out the words. Meanwhile, create an active atmosphere through the competition.Task 4:Enlarge the vocabulary with the exercises on the learning paper. (4 mi
19、nutes)Students preview and finish the exercises on the learning paper before class.Check the answers and give students some tips.Enable students to enlarge their vocabulary through the learning process. And encourage them not to be afraid when they meet new words.Task 5:Exercises. 1 Listen and write

Play the tape for three times and check the answers.Check if students can master the spelling. Improve students English actual utilization ability.T
