26、cle(mainly bicycle).Butwhyusea1,500kgvehicletotransportapassengerloadof100kg?Urbanareasarebecomingdenserand morecongested,withaveragespeedinmanycitiesbelow10mph.WiththeUNforecasting7bnpeoplewillliveinurban areasby2050(70%growth),howwillcitiesdealwiththisadditionaldemandforroadspaceandadditionalpress
27、ureonclean air?Weseethepotentialfor1.1tnofthe18tn20mph)shouldappealtomanycommuters.Onaspeedto averagecost/milebasis,wethinkconsumerswillembracemicromobilityasanenablerof fastercommutetimesincongestedurbanareas.Arecentstudy2analysingNewYorksopensourceddatafortaxiandride-hailtrips,aswell asdockedbikes
