2、n met his Alabama-born wife Shawna at a singing competition in Nashville. They spent the first few years of their 11-year marriage performing as solo artists. Finally discovered in 2009, Thompson Squares self-titled debut album has just been released and is receiving many positive reviews.Josh Kelle

3、y has come full circle in his career. At 21, he left Georgia for Nashville, but was turned down by several record companies. Josh later headed to Los Angeles, where he recorded the pop hits “Amazing” and “Only You.” He met his wife, actress Katherine Heigl, when she appeared in the video for “Only Y

4、ou.” Josh is the brother of Charles Kelley, a member of the popular Country trio Lady Antebellum. The siblings wrote Joshs new Country single, “Georgia Clay, the title track from Josh Kelleys debut Country album, which MCA Nashville will release in late March.The Doobie Brothers have never appeared

8、Face CrackdownSuzanne Presto | CairoFebruary 19, 2011As pro-democracy movements gain momentum in the region, Yemen and Libya are cracking down on the protest movements that have been growing within their borders during the past week.*Popular uprisings continue to spread through the regions of North

9、African and the Middle East.In Yemens capital, Sanaa, protests turned violent Saturday as anti-government and pro-government activists clashed on the streets.Stone throwing and gunfire erupted, but an official tally of wounded or dead has not been released. At least one anti-government protester was

10、 reported killed.Activists are protesting against the rule of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has been in power for 32 years.Protests have gained momentum this month in impoverished Yemen, and they are not limited to the capital. The New York-based Human Rights Watch says Yemeni human rights activ

11、ists report that at least three people were killed and 80 wounded on Friday alone. One fatal attack involved an unknown assailant who threw a hand grenade at protesters in the southwestern city of Taizz.Elsewhere in the region, the Libyan government is sharply cracking down on activists who are call

Local officials and witnesses said at least twenty-three people were wounded. Later, angry protesters gathered next to a hospital. Many sho

17、uted Down with Khalifa - Bahrains King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa.The military cleared Pearl Square of protesters during a raid on Thursday. The protests in Bahrain began on Monday.Seventy percent of Bahrains population is Shiite, but Sunni Muslims lead the government. Bahrain is also home to the Unit

18、ed State Navys Fifth Fleet.In Yemen, demonstrators have been calling for more than a week for President Ali Abdullah Saleh to resign. Thousands protested across Yemen on Friday. Protesters fought with security forces in Aden. Medical officials say four people were shot to death.At least one person w

A passenger in a car threw a grenade that exploded as a crowd demonstrated against the Yemeni government.In Amman, Jordan, witnesses say at least eight people were injured when government supporters used sticks to attack demonstrators. Jordan has had weeks of protests

20、demanding constitutional changes and limits on the power of King Abdullah.In Libya, there were Day of Rage demonstrations Thursday against Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. Human Rights Watch says Libyan security forces killed twenty-four protesters.In Iran, thousands of government supporters shouted D

Mir Hossein Moussavi and Mehdi Karroubi are leaders of Irans opposition Green Movement.But a top Iranian religious leader told a prayer service at Tehran University that execution was needless. Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said the two

22、men were, in a sense, dead already because they have lost their influence. Both men have been held effectively under house arrest this week.On Monday, the Green Movement held its first public protest in a year. The movement grew out of Irans disputed presidential election in two thousand nine. Oppos

23、ition websites have called for nationwide demonstrations on Sunday.In a separate development, Egypt approved a request for two Iranian navy ships to pass through the Suez Canal. Israels Foreign Minister says the ships are expected to sail toward Syria. This is believed to be Irans first naval missio
