Ask students to observe three pairs of pictures and then answer some questions:1. What can you see in these pictures? 2

5、. Are you willing to help the poor?3. Do you think it is a good way to help the poor by giving them money or things?b. Present and explain the topic of Unit 6 - compassion.Compassion is sharing the suffering of others. It is being there for them, and listening to them patiently. When friends show co

6、mpassion, it feels as though they are helping us carry our burden. The joy of experiencing their love reduces our suffering. Caring for others is something basic to human nature. To care is to express humanness. Step 2. Global understandingAsk the Students to read the passage as quickly as they can

7、and then answer the questions on the screen. Let them get the main idea of each paragraph and be clear about the text structure.1. How to translate the title of Text A?2. What is the style of the text?3. What is the theme that this story tries to convey?4. Can you summarize the main idea of Text A i

8、n your own words?Step 3. Detailed understandinga. Caring for others is something basic to human nature. To care is to express humanness. And inability to care, more

18、than anything else, shows a human being to be inhuman. In this story, we will meet an old bag lady and a hot dog vendor who always tried to help others, and a rich man who showed no compassion for those in need. Being nice to others doesnt cost you much in most cases, but it may have a great impact on the person you have been nice to. So why not be nice to others? Your kindness can make our world more be
