Welton Academy was a conservative but well-respected boys prep school where education was a pragmatic and rather dull affair. The school life dragged on with all the formal and inactiv
2、e lectures until one day a new English teacher, John Keating, came and stirred the stagnant (死气沉沉死气沉沉) water. China Pharmaceutical University Keating was an unconventional educator who tried to shape his students into “free thinkers” in and after class. He guided the students in feeling the power of
3、 words and ideas. He urged them to fully experience every moment, to perceive the world from different angles, and to maintain uniqueness and individuality. 4、ating had read and felt romantic poetry with his fellow students and had started his quest for the true essence of life. Keatings students revived it and followed suit by meeting at night in a cave. The adventures of mind and soul gave them big thrills as well as the temptation to explore the unknow

The story ended up with a disaster: one of his most brilliant students committed suicide because he found parental interference and pressure unbearable. Keating was blamed for the
