Learning Objectives Introduction Shipment is one of the important terms of a sales contract. Shipment means that the sell

2、er fulfils his obligation by delivering the goods to the buyer or loading the goods on the named carrier at the given place at the time stipulated in the contract. In international trade , there are various kinds of modes of transportation such as ocean transportation, air transportation , railtrans

3、portation, road transportation etc. In spite of different modes of transportation, ocean transportation is the most widely used form for its low cost and large capacity. Before shipment , the buyer generally sends shipping instructions to the seller, informing them of packing requirements and marks

4、etc. After making shipment, the seller should promptly send shipping advice to the buyer,advising them of the shipment details.
