6、ext books, such as ethics, issues in human behavior and such kind of things. even if there were no hard evidence to support the point that teachers are usually serving as the guide for students, a role which can never be performed by computers, there are plenty of vivid examples that support it. 7、n I was studying in the high school, one of my teachers helped me with my study and taught me how to deal with difficulties in my life as well. So these benefits are impossible to be gained from computers.In addition, a more subtle point can be made is that young students are more susceptible to the

8、 adverse influence of computers. it is a general principle that juveniles usually lack in the sense of judgment to tell right from wrong. so they may be more likely to be distracted from study by the lure that comes along with computers. Therefore, teachers are superior to computers in cultivating s

9、tudents.Although it is all very well to suggest that teachers invariably enjoy the most critical role in fostering young people, let us not lose sight of the dramatic merits brought on by computers. and computers do open  the frontiers of the development of education.nevertheless, I am still in

10、clined to take sides with the opinion that teachers can never give way to computers. as is so often pointed out, the significant thing is to make computers facilitate teachers job. The computer can be programmed to provide an endless number of simple questions, and as the student answers these question

13、s the facts are learned and reinforced. Why computers do well, with examples However, in the learning and practice of more complex ideas, computer is not adequate. For one thing, computer can evaluate an answer as right or wrong, but it cannot determine why. It cannot find out why a student is makin

14、g mistakes, and then re-present important concepts in a different way so that the student will understand. It cannot determine at what stage in a mathematics problem the student has made an error. Indeed, it can only indicate that the final answer is wrong. For another, tasks involving reasoning can

15、not be taught by computers, as there are too many variables for a computer to deal with successfully.Thus, while computers may be useful as a tool for practicing simple skills, they are not an essential feature of modern education, because they cannot monitor a students grasp of concepts, nor can it

16、 evaluate a students reasoning. Unless further developments in computers are made will the human teachers remain indispensable? Moreover, the result out of computer will also be infused with plenty of wrong information. Another reason is that comp

20、uters designed programs of education can not be amended accordingly. It usually takes the programmers months or even years to work out a set of workable programs. To change it or amend it may take the same amount of time. The last but not the least reason is computer is mechanical, it may be suitabl

21、e for some students, but not for all with quite different demands. Students, on the whole, are not fond of unchanging teaching methods, fitting and proper for various teaching materials if teachers are working efficiently. In conclusion, it is out of the question for computers to take the place of t

22、eachers in the classroom for the disadvantages of computer in the instruction; however, no one now deny that computer is an absolutely good helper for teacher. Though expert systems have made computers more intelligent, they have not yet become a substitute for the human interaction in the learning process. 24、teachers role, but not their disappearance from the classroom. Nobody can argue that the acquisition of knowledge is more fun and easier with computers. The mere activity of touching and exploring this device constitutes an enjoyable task for the learner. This, accompanied with the relaxing attitude

25、 and software interactivity, usually conduce a better grasping of new knowledge. At a higher educational level, the availability of digital books, simulators and other academic materials, provide the student with an ever accessible source of information that would otherwise not be at hand. But besides the increasing complexity of intelligent software, the need of human interaction in the learning process will always be present, at least in the foreseeable future. Human beings are needed to determine what the specific needs of each individual a
