3、perature,theotheroneat10degreeCelsius?Forrespirometer1,Countout50germinatingpeasandplacethemintothegraduatedcylinder.Forrespirometer2,putin50drypeasand110plasticbeads.Forrespirometer3,onlyputin150plasticbeads.(nowthevolumesoftherespirometersshouldbethesame)Andthefirstsetofrespirometerisready.Prepare
4、anothersetofgerminatingpeas,driedpeasplusbeads,andplasticbeads.Toassemblethesixrespirometers,obtainsixvials,eachwithanattachedstopperandpipette.Placeasmallpieceofcottoninthebottomofeachvialand,usingadropper,moistenthecottonwith15%KOH.Makesurethattherespirometervialsaredryontheinside.DonotgetKOHonthe
5、sidesoftherespirometer.PlaceasmallwadofnonabsorbentcottonontopoftheKOH-soakedabsorbentcotton.Placethefirstsetofgerminatingpeas,drypeasplusbeads,andbeadsinvials1,2,and3.Placethesecondsetinvials4,5,and6,respectively.Insertthestopperfittedwiththecalibratedpipette.Placeaweightedcollaroneachendofthevial.
6、Makeaslingofmaskingtapeattachedtoeachsideofeachofthewaterbathstoholdthepipettesoutofthewaterduringanequilibriumperiodofsevenminutes.Vials1,2,and3shouldrestintheroomtemperaturebathandtheothervialsshouldrestinthe10degreeCelsiuswaterbath.?Aftertheequilibriumperiodofsevenminutes,immerseallsixrespiromete
7、rentirelyintheirbaths.?Allowtherespirometerstoequilibrateforthreemoreminutesandthenrecord,tothenearest0.01mL,theinitialpositionofwaterineachpipette.Checkthetemperatureinbothbathsandrecorditinthedatatable.Every5minutesfor20minutes,takereadingsofthewater'spositionineachpipetteandrecordthedata.DATA

17、eas.Theactualexperimentalresultwasfairlyclosetoourexpectation.Thedatashowedthatthetemperaturedoesaffecttherateofrespirationdirectly,butonthedrypeas,wesawanoppositeresult.Ithinkthepossiblecauseoferroristhattheremightbealeakonthestopper,sowatermovedintothepipetteandcausedthisinaccuracy.Inaddition,thedatawascol
