We were at the top of an active volcano in Alaska. The more experienced people in the group were already on the edge of the crat

7、er but I was so anxious, I could not move for a long time. I had to force myself not to panic. Eventually I managed to walk down to the others but I was still terrified. Then I got up the courage to bend over the boiling lava and collect a sample. I was so excited about what I had done and where I w

8、as that I forgot my fear. After that I was never as frightened again, although Im always careful. It was would be very foolish to become careless when youre standing on a live volcano.Hi, I am Frank Gore. Ive been studing volcanoes for almost 10 years. The most frightening experience Ive ever had wa

9、s while flying over a volcano in Hawaii. I had justfinished making a map of the direction of the lava. Suddenly, the clouds came down really low and the helicopter Pilot couldnt tell where we were, so she flew down below the clouds, very close to the volcano. We flew between the fiery red lava below

10、 and the thick, dark clouds above. I was so nervous my whole body was damp with sweat. I was very relieved when we finally reached our camp. Hi, I am Sarah Tang. Ive been studing volcanoes for almost twenty years. Ill never forget the amazing experience I had on avolcano in New Zealand. I was down i

11、n the crater taking measurements. We werent expecting any activity from the volcano, so I thought I was safe. Then suddenly, the ground under my feet began to tremble. The trembling got stronger and stronger and after about a minute, a large cloud of steam blew out of the ground. Thats when I realis

12、ed I was standing on an active volcano. Believe me, I was trembling almost as much as the ground under my feet.
