1、Unit 5 Encyclopaedias广州市第16中学、培正中学一、教材分析本单元围绕着谈论“百科全书”来展开听、说、读、写的训练。通过介绍查找百科全书的方法以及理解百科全书中不同类别的资料信息等活动,拓展学生的文化背景知识面,培养学生科学的学习态度,激发他们获取知识的热情。本单元选取的材料包括关于恐龙、华特·迪士尼以及埃及学之父让·商博良的三段阅读材料、关于南京中山陵的一段听力材料。语法方面主要学习指示代词与可数名词、不可数名词的用法。本单元具体学习内容见“认知目标”。二、教学对象分析1. 从本单元的材料选取上看,不论是学生们比较感兴趣的恐龙与华特·迪士尼,

2、还是略有所知的南京中山陵,抑或是了解不多的埃及学之父让·商博良,其实都有利于激发他们对本单元学习的兴趣,有利于开展本单元的的各项听、说、读、写任务,关键是教师如何做好引入环节。2. 学生对于指示代词this,that,these,those的用法与可数名词、不可数名词的用法其实并不陌生,在小学已有接触。在本单元,教师可系统地帮助学生温故而知新,进行系统的归纳性学习,引导学生在一定的语境中熟练运用它们。三、单元教学目标1.认知目标: 学习水平学习内容学习水平的描述语 音1. 了解音节的概念,能够正确区分单词的音节。2. 能够正确朗读单音节、双音节、多音节单词,读准重读音节。词 汇1.

7、发他们获取知识的热情。3. 能力发展目标:1)能够在听、说、读、写等语言综合实践活动中运用本单元所学的重点词汇、句型与语法。2)在学习中提高交流和传递信息的能力,能够根据关键词、图片等提示完成故事,叙事完整、合理。3)通过指导学生在模拟交际中运用所学的知识,培养学生探究学习、合作学习、自主学习的能力。四、单元教学重点1. 学生熟练掌握本单元重点词汇以及短语。2指导学生利用所学句型正确表达思想、进行交际活动。3指导学生归纳、总结指示代词this,that,these,those的用法以及可数名词与不可数名词的用法,并在实践中熟练运用它们。五、单元教学难点1. 通过形式多样的课堂活动与任务,帮助学

8、生完成阅读理解、听力理解等学习任务。2. 本单元ReadingB(介绍埃及学之父让·商博良)阅读材料的科普性较强,建议教师在教学中把握课型特点、注重方法,调动学生学习的积极性。3. 引导学生积极主动地探究学习,从教材以外的多渠道去了解与本单元主题相关的文化背景信息、资料等,并能与同学进行相互交流,顺利开展包括口头汇报、海报展示等拓展活动,培养学生探究学习、自主学习、合作学习的能力。六、教学策略1在教学中,教师应积极创设情景引入,配合媒体、表情、动作、进行视听说演示,激发学生兴趣,以听说带读写。2教师应采用有利于学生学习的教学方法,善于引导学生通过阅读或观察、比较对知识进行归纳总结。增

9、加学习内容的复现和巩固练习、及时反馈学生学习情况等。3教师应该根据自己学生的具体情况对教材进行整合,精讲多练,调动学生的学习兴趣,使他们积极参与课堂各种学习活动。在阅读的过程中,教师应着重指导学生培养阅读策略与技能及写作过程中的写作技巧训练。七、媒体的选择与设计1充分利用和发挥基本的教学媒体,如课本、挂图、教师的身体语言、板书的作用。2适时、合理地使用计算机多媒体,增大课堂的容量,更好地辅助课堂教学,提高课堂教学的有效性。八、各课时教学内容安排建议第1课时Reading A一、定位: input-based,阅读理解为主。二、教学目标:1.让学生阅读两段选自百科全书的文字,了解关于恐龙和华特.

10、迪士尼(Walt.Disney)的基本情况2. 掌握一些常用词组,如:more than; asas;die out; learn about; be famous for; be born; at the same time; get a job doing sth. 以及词尾less和ful 的用法。三、教学环节设计:A. Pre-reading1.Leading-in. Students(Ss) watch the screen and discuss “What is encyclopaedia ?” and Ss give the answers. 2.Title Encyclopa

11、edia is appeared.3.Ss learn the new words of this part and fill in the blanks, using the words they learn just now.B. While-reading4.Before Ss watch a video about dinosaurs, Teacher show out a question “Where and when die dinosaurs existed?” to Ss.5.(Skimming) Ss watch the video and skim over the te

12、xt , then finish No.1 & 2 Ex.A1 on Page 66 6.Ss answer the above question, with the help of Dinosaur family tree.7.Ss listen to the tape of (Part 1) the dinosaur and complete No.1-4 A3 on page 67.8.(scanning) Ss read the text (Part 1) and find out some useful expressions. Presentation Show a photo of the students taken recently
