20、词may表示“可以”。含有may的一般疑问句表示请求、许可时，它的否定回答不能用may not，而是cant或mustnt。例如：       May I use your computer? 我可以用你的电脑吗？       Yes, you can. 可以。       No, you cant./ No, you mustnt. 不，不能用。  2. 情态动词must表示“应该”“必须”。否定式mus

21、t not（mustnt）表示“不应该”“不允许”“不准”等。本单元mustnt的主要用法是表示禁止和警告。在回答must的问句时，肯定回答是Yes, you must。否定回答是No, you need not（neednt）。表示“不必”，而不用must not。例如：       Must I go now? 我现在必须走吗？       Yes, you must./ No, you neednt. 是的，你必须走。/不，你不必现在走。  3. 要求某人做某

22、事时，可以用You must do sth. 或Remember to do sth.结构。例如：       You must obey the traffic rules. 你必须遵守交通规则。       Remember to ride your scooter on the sidewalk. 记住在人行道上骑单脚滑行车。  4. 不允许某人做某事时，可以说You cant do sth. 或者Dont do sth. （参见第12册Unit 10的Gra

23、mmar Notes）。语气再强一点可以用Never do sth.或者You mustnt do sth. 例如：       You mustnt swim in the river. 你千万不要在河里游泳。       You mustnt smoke here. 禁止在此处吸烟。       Never be late again. 千万不要再迟到了。       Never put your head, arms, or feet out of the bus windows. 千万不要把头、胳膊或脚伸出
