1、 世界建筑 2011/12玛莎夫艺术表演中心为旧金山州立大学在其西边 界上建立了一个新的标志性入口。这座新建筑将会促 进创新和合作,同时使校园和城市之间在功能、视觉、 实体和文化上的关系变得更加紧固。该 22 496m2的建 筑物将分 3个阶段建设完成,以扩展州立大学的创新 艺术学院的空间,用于表演、练习和学习。合作型的平台艺术表演中心处于一个广阔的横向平台之上。这 种空间是对于传统方形校园景观的重新诠释,学生们 能在一个学院建筑的中庭中体验社交生活。这种室内 地形有利于学生、老师和参观者之间的交流。景观区 由建筑形式的交织组织起影院、教室和公共场地的多 样化功能。开放空间的东边连接了校园,西

6、for CollaborationCentral to the Center's design is an expansivehorizontal datum that extends throughout thebuilding. This spatial datum is a reinterpretationof the traditional campus quadrangle landscape,one that reconsiders the physical and social roleof the quad in campus life within a single

7、building.This interior topography encourages interactionand collaboration between students, faculty, andvisiting professionals. Working in concert with theunifying datum, landscape zones are interwovenwith the architectural forms to organize the diverseprogram of theaters, classrooms and public area

8、sacross the site. These open spaces connect thecampus to the east with the park landscape to thewest and provide distinct landscapes settings thatcomplement the academic and performance spaces.Theaters: Dynamic Spaces for PerformanceThe building's architectural form is definedby the iconic volum

9、es that punctuate thehorizontal circulation datum and house the primaryperformance spaces. The centerpiece of Phase Iis the 1,200-seat Theater, which provides a spacesupporting a range of performance, includingtheater, music, opera, and dance, as well as servingas a hall for University-wide lectures

10、 and otherlarge events. Phase 2 includes the 450-seat LittleTheater surrounded by the Department of TheaterArts and its instructional spaces. The 250-seatBlack Box Theater is located nearby, with directaccess from the central courtyard, and ringed by anupper-level mezzanine integrated into the adjac

11、entinstructional spaces. In Phase 3, a 200-seat lecturehall descends to meet the southern courtyard.Incorporated into the School of Music and Dance,the 350-seat Music Recital Hall forms the courtyard'ssouthern boundary.Sustainability: An Integrated ApproachSustainable design strategies are imple

Within much of the building's interior, non-performance spaces such as lobbies and classrooms are naturally ventilated with program elements organized to enable exterior cross-ventilation.
