Edmonton, the capital city of Alberta, is located near the geographic centre of the province and is the major supply and service center for Canadas crude oil（原油）, oil sands and other northern resource industries. Approximately 290 km (180 mi) south of the capital is Calgary, Albe

Ontario is located in east-central Canada, and is Canadas most populous province, accounting for nearly 40 percent of all Canadians, and is the second largest province in total area. It is home to the nations capital city, Ottawa, and the nations most populous city, Toronto. Ontar

11、io is bordered by the province of Manitoba to the west, Hudson Bay and to the north, and Quebec to the east. Ontario is sometimes divided into two parts, Northern Ontario and Southern Ontario. The great majority of Ontarios population and its farm land is located in the south. Yukon is the westernmo

12、st and smallest of Canadas three federal territories. Whitehorse is the territorial capital and Yukons only city. Vancouver is one of the most diverse cities in Canada; 52% of its people have a first language other than English. Montreal is the largest city in the Canadian province of Quebec, a

French is the citys official language and is the language spoken at home by 56.9% of the population of the city, followed by English at 18.6% and 19.8% other languages ( 2006). 2.
