5、ise与raise的辨析:都表示“提”、“升”,但二者有区别:rise表示“升起;上升;起立;起床”;说明主语自身移向较高的位置。用作不及物动词。raise表示“兴起;提起;抬高”;说明主语发出的动作是要作用于其他事物的。用作及物动词。please raise your hand when you cant understand.3.knock into撞上;将一物插入另一物 eg:the boy knocked into a big tree because of his carelessness.用于粗心,这个男孩撞上了一棵大树。注意knock at/on表示“敲”,knock down表
6、示“撞倒”。4.fall down倒下 eg:the big tree fell down because of a strong wind.由于一场强风,这棵大树倒了。5.the number of的数量 eg:the number of the trees on both sides of the road is to路两旁的树有101棵。注意the number of与a number of的辨析:the number of表示“的数量”,后接复数名词,谓语用单数,因为number是主语。a number of表示“许多”,后接可数名词复数,谓语用复数。6.players move to
7、wards one end of the court while throwing the ball to each other.运动员互相传球时都从球场的一端移向另一端。在该句子中,含有一个以while引导的时间状语从句,该从句省略了主语players和助动词are。在英语表达中,若主从句的主语一致,且从句中的谓语动词由“助动词be+动词的其他形式”构成时,常可以省略从句中的主语和be。 eg:he met an old friend while(he was)shopping.他在购物时遇到了一位老朋友。课堂训练根据汉语完成句子在课堂上,数学老师常把我们分成五组去讨论问题。our math
