So intercultural communication has become an important role in the development of history, but people in intercultural communication usually emphasize the expression of verbal language and neglect the role of non-verbal language, which plays a vital part in intercultu

3、ral communication. Under many situations, we will use some non-verbal language to communicate with others. According to some statistics, non-verbal language has accounted for 70% in intercultural communication. Therefore, non-verbal communication is one of the important ways in communication, especi

4、ally in intercultural communication.?Body language belongs to non-verbal language communication. It is easy to understand and very important in modern society. Every kind of body language has its own connotation. However, the same body language has different meanings in different countries. Only und

5、erstanding the difference of body language in different countries and mastering how to overcome these differences, can we communicate with the other person from other countries successfully, and avoid some barriers of communication between countries, and help us to communicate with outside. It also

6、helpful for us to understand the world, open our view, and our countrys Reform and Opening Up. So body language is becoming more and more popular with people. It is obvious that the role of body language is very important.According to the instruction of materials and investigation, at present, there

7、 are so many experts studying intercultural communication, not mentioned the body language in intercultural communication. Many experts and scholars have deeply elaborated the body language. For instance, Pan Xiaojue has elaborated the definition, the classification, and the characters of body langu

8、age. Li Yuanhan has studied the definition, the classification, the characters and the function of body language and paralanguage. In addition, Ningji, Sa Wamu and ect have analyzed the differences of body language, but their study have many defects. Firstly, they study the body language in paralang

9、uage or in non-verbal language; therefore, the study of body language is not profound. People cant understand the body language. Secondly, they study the differences of body language is not wide. For example, Pan Xiaojue just studies the differences of body language in Public Relationship. Ning Ji j

10、ust studies the differences of body language in Action Linguistics. They seldom study the body language in intercultural communication. This paper mainly discusses the body language and emphasizes the differences of body language in intercultural communication.?2.Related Theories2.1 Intercultural Co

Body language is a tool to communicate the thoughts by using expressions, movements, and posture. It can express peoples inner-center and show peoples feelings. It embodies ideographic c

16、haracter and communicational character. Therefore, body language is a kind of accompanied language with some Lexeme. But common movement is everyones normality and is a part of functional movement. It not only has no expressional function, but also cant transmit information. So common movement doesnt belong to
