The see ond verb mustbe in a non-fin ite form, and this can be difficult for lear ners as there is more than one non-finite form ofthe verb which can be used.

3、 Commonly the form used is to + infin itive, as in the example above.However, there are some com mon verbs which require the -ing (prese nt participle) form of the verb tobe used in the sec ond verb, in stead of the base form. For example, the verb enjoy is com monly usedin this way:She enjoys danci
