2、,阅读简洁的外文文献,能进行简洁的英文摘要撰写；本课程的任务主要为：（ 1）增加同学专业词汇量（ 2）介绍专业文献阅读的技巧（ 3）加强对英文长句翻译的训练（ 4）介绍论文英文摘要的写法（ 5）介绍专业在国际上的进展趋势（二）课程教学的目的和要求能让同学在学完二年高校英语的基础上,增加专业方面的词汇,同时明白本专业在 英文上的表达方式,通过本课程的学习,同学能把握较多的专业词汇,能依据教学的要求查阅简洁的外文专业文献,基本能够读懂文献中的主要方法与主要内容,同时能为四年级论文的撰写打下基础,介绍论文英文摘要的写法；要求：把握500 个专业词汇, 能基本完成对专业长句中译英或英译中的翻译,基本能

3、读懂专业文献；（三）课程教学方法与手段该课程采纳多媒体结合传统教学的方式进行授课,多媒体的使用主要为结合专业的需要,演示多种系统, 加深同学对专业软件中专业词汇的熟悉与应用,传统教学方面主为结合词汇的记忆.句子的翻译.范文的讲解等方面进行；（四）课程与其它课程的联系学习该课程需要同学有肯定的基础英语水平,最好能达到高校英语四级,同时已学完地理信息系统课程；此课程对以后专业主干课程的学习（特别为专业软件的使用）打好了基础,同学能利用本课程的技能进行相关文献的查阅,并进行论文英文摘要的撰写；（五）教材与教学参考书教材：地理信息系统专业英语教程（自编）教学参考书：1. 地理信息系统名词审定委员会.
