Moreover, due to the global economic crisis, the employment of English graduate is already in a situation o
5、f oversupply. And this undoubtedly brings a big pressure to instrumental language talents. 6、n of university enrolment, English majored graduates are faced with a more severe employment situation as well as the challenge of meeting the need of the development of the market and still more, the transform of the management system and employment conception. In recent years, graduates in Busines
7、s English keeps increasing, which causes a severe unbalance in the occupational pattern of Business English graduates. At the meantime, the problem of the structural contradiction of college graduates increasingly becomes prominent. And also for lack of occupational guidance, the situation of employ
8、ment is more and more severe. So we can tell that the overall employment situation for Business English college students is still far from being satisfactory. The reason of the employment difficulty for Business English graduates1 The deficiency of macro policiesThere are still a lot of insufficienc
9、ies of personnel matters and labor security in our country. The deficiency of some relevant system and management measures is the direct reason of the employment difficulty for Business English graduates. The inaccessibility of employment information and employment channel in Business English in our
10、 country also, to some extent, hinders the employment of graduates in this major.2 The unbalance of the structure of employment and the contradiction of supply and demandIn the world today, the importance of English is beyond suspicion. But English is not a tool of communication any more, it becomes
11、 a knowledge for examination and competition. The function of English is immensely exaggerated and it is far beyond its original function of language tool. This makes student deviate from the original purpose of learning English, which obviously is not proper. We should make sure that English is mer
12、ely a language tool and English education is merely part of the state education. English level should not be a threshold for talents selection. A recent news states that there are more than 3 hundred million people learning English in our country, which includes the professionals and non-professiona
13、ls and accounts for one-fourths of our population. The exports predict that a few yeas later the number of people learning English in our country will exceed the overall population of English speaking countries. With such a huge number of people learning English, we wonder how is their practical app
14、lication level? According to the investigation of National Foreign language Bureau, at present out country is still suffering from a severe shortage of experts in simultaneous interpretation and translation and 90% of the jobs for qualified interpreters are still in vacancy. So people begin to wonde
15、r, with so many people learning English, why should our country in short supply of interpreters? After the market investigation, experts analyze that ever since 1999 colleges began to enlarging their enrollment, along with the quick pace of globalization and frequent contact between countries all le
16、ad to the overheat of English major. But the blindly ignorance of the markets absorption capacity and practical needs will eventually cause the phenomenon of the bubbles of English professionals.3 The unbalance of educational resources caused by overemphasis on English educationUnder Chinas prevaili
17、ng education system, the over-influential status of English education has caused a lot of side effects on talents training and selection. For a long period of time, English education system has occupied a large amount of manpower, material and financial resources and it plays a very important role i
18、n pushing the development of Chinas economy and society. But As the matter stand, its teaching effect and input are not matching. But what should be mentioned is all the side effects on science and technology and other education system like humanities and Social Science, especially on talents traini
19、ng and selection caused by the prevailing English education system. For most educatees who regard English as merely a tool for communication, English is a technique but not a kind of knowledge. The over-influential status of English education causes the severe unbalance of the limited education reso
20、urces. It seems that there is a shortage of skilled workers in our country, but what we see is that among so many technical schools everywhere, we cant find a lot of really qualified ones.4 The employment difficulty caused by students own problemsMost students in English major study in college just
21、for passing the grades examinations and get the certificate and thus get the graduate certificate successfully. That is why nowadays there are people called gunner, namely people who are hired to take exams for those so called talents to get the certificates. And this to some extent lead to the phen
22、omenon that what is real in the present market is only certificate but not talents. But what we ignore is that the real importance for learning English is not to show how knowledgeable we are but to make a better communication with people. And thus our purpose of learning English is not merely for t
23、hat small piece of paper but to link up with the world and communicate with others more efficiently. Also the enterprises do not need that small paper but the knowledge in our mind to create achievement for them. So if students in English major want to find a decent job, they must be truly learned a

Besides, students should also t
25、ake their own practical situation into consideration and establish a more public employment attitude.Secondly, students should do their best to improve their own quality and thus take the initiative. With non-English major students English ability becoming stronger and stronger, if students from Eng
26、lish major cannot do good enough, we will lost our advantage to them in the future job-hunting. In this society that is in badly need of inter-disciplinary talent, only mastering a foreign language is not an edge of competition any more. There is a large number of non-English major students who have
27、 a good command of English and can read , write and speak as good as if not better than we can. Thus in this situation, our English majors must either grasp the essence and reach up to a certain height and level in our study or consider about enlarge our scope of knowledge. Besides, we must be good
28、at communicating with others and improve our ability of both English and business social intercourse. Only in this way can we achieve our final goal and get a satisfying job.Thirdly, we can become self-employed and solve the problem of employment difficulty. As of student in Business English major,
29、we should spread our wings in our professional skill and develop our own way of innovation.2 reforms of collegesFirstly, colleges should reasonably regulate course structure and course design according to the needs of English market and run the school towards the society and market. Also they should
30、 combine the enrollment of English major freshmen and the trend of employment of English major graduates and thus give the English majors a larger chance to get a job.Secondly, colleges should strengthen the guidance for students of Business English and give them guidance in their whole college life not just for graduates.Thirdly, colleges should build a high-quality and professional guidance team, whose quality directly determines the quality of the graduates.
