22、ith more education, even though theyhad the same IQ in childhood, is doing slightly better in old age, on average. The pers on who had a more professi onal job, in old age, is doingslightly better on average than the person who had a manual job, despite the fact that they started at the same level.

I found it very easy to lear n, but was frustrat

42、ed with the slow pace and repetitive n ature of all my Spanish classes. So I workedextra hard in my spare time and asked my teacher if I could skip a level by the end of the semester.This was un successful, however, because the school was not willi ng to test me or otherwise prove that I could be su

43、ccessful in the top level after skipp ing a level. This made things even more frustrati ng, as the n I was stuck in a class where I already knew the material!Then I went on to college where I the n used the Ian guage exte nsively both in and out of the classroom. I studied Spanish literature, cultur

44、e, and lin guistics and very much enjoyed the cultural and linguistic elements, but found the indepth study of literature a very un bala need way to study Spani sh.I got a lot out of using my Spanish outside of the classroo m, in cludi ng a trip to Mexico with a church group, where I found myself ac

45、ting as an in terpreter. It was certa inly challe nging, but it was also a lot of fun.I then also volunteered to be an interpreter in the community schools and also used my Spanish to teach Englishto some Spanish speakers.This isprobably where I lear ned the most!Q1: What do we know about the speake
