2、中国学生英语教学中是很受欢迎的.在这篇论文中,我试图介绍身体语言在整个英语教学中的应用。现在,在英语教学中应用身体语言在听,说,读,写等可能性和影响将进一步讨论。abstract:body language is an important medium through which people communicate with each other. in the teaching process, teachers transmit information to students through proper expressions, gestures, movements and eyes

3、ight. it can achieve good results like encouragement, suggestion and exchange so that students will have deep impressions and strong influence. students learn english mostly in classroom, so teachers should create a good study atmosphere in class corresponding to the continuous reform and changes of

4、 english teaching methods. teachers should use simple english accompanie highly-expressive body language so as to make them easily understood. then students will get a deeper understanding and feeling of english, and thus the goal of raising efficiency in english teaching will be achieved. it is inn

5、ovation in english teaching field and this adwanced method of teaching is very popular in chinese students english teaching nowadays. in these article , i am trying to give a whole introduction about using body language in english teaching .now, the possibility and the effect of using body language

6、in listening, speaking, reading and writing will be further discussed. key words: body language, english teaching, important mediumi. introduction body language is an important part of communication which can statute 50% or more of what we are communicating. if you wish to communicate well, the it m

7、akes sense to understand how you can (and can not) use your body language to say what you mean. there are many parts in you body. they are arms, hands, legs, mouth, eyes and so on. as a english teacher, you must use them sufficiently in english class .in order to make your students study easily. as

8、everyone knows, the classroom teaching is one of the most important ways that the students learn english. as far as the english teaching , teachers have to arouse the students interest so that they may learn better. there are many ways to arouse the students interest and help them to learn better, b

9、ody language used in english teaching is one of them. body language is an important media through which people communicate with each other. it refers to the patterns of facial expressions and gestures that people use to express their feelings in communication. in school education, body language play

10、s a positive role in cultivating the students characters. for, teachers are usually respected, and factually, what or how the teachers say and do will be possibly imitated by the students (sometimes subconsciously). in a word, teachers graceful body language helps to improve the students artistic-ap

11、preciation and moral character. if the students develop a wonderful body language, which will possibly leads them to form an optimistic and active feelings, they will surely have a more smooth interpersonal relation. the affection of teachers body language on the students is reflected not only by es

12、tablishing a good example, but also shortening the teacher-student estrangement by which a more harmonious studying atmosphere is created. as a matter of fact, teachers use body langue reasonably to make students study easily . as a result, the student can learn more and more knowledge in the class.

13、problems in teaching oral english when we talk about the body language , what will in your mind ? that is oral english . there are two major problems in teaching oral english .one is what should be taught to them in an oral english course and the other one is how to encourage students to speak more

14、english in the class. however, with the limitation of students vocabulary, teachers have to simplify their teaching language with the help of facial expressions and body in order to solve these problems. importance of using body language in english teaching english teaching is a key part of the scho

15、ol education. generally tratditional english teaching considers teachers as the center ,book learning as the standard a examination handing as the only goal. with the english teaching methods reform, more and more english teachers organize the teaching process in english so that they may realize the

16、 communicated english. the communicated english means that teachers instruct the students and explain questions basically in english, and the students are also required to use english in class. contemporarily, however, the students in the middle school cant speak very well; neither can they understa

17、nd why they should use different tones in different time or situation; their vocabulary and expressive ability are limited too. these limitations made it difficult to realize the communicated english in the classes. according to the students present level and practical situation, body language is re

18、quired. for example, when a teacher gives an instruction: you two, please come to the blackboard. the students can easily understand it if the teacher looks at (or points to) some two students. then, the teacher points to the blackboard. the students will carry out the order without obstacle even if

19、 they dont hear the key words blackboard clearly. furthermore, teachers usually have to explain some language points, and at this time, they have to differentiate the classroom expressions and the examples. this action will usually give the students a deep impression. from the above we can learn, bo

20、dy language is a important way in teaching. the concrete application of the body language in listening, speaking, reading and writing 1. body language helps to improve listening the greek philosopher epictetus ever wittily said: nature has given man one tongue and two ears that he may hear twice as

21、much as he speaks. from the saying we can learn how important the listening is in our daily life. if the body language is used, the effect will be better. when beginning a new lesson, the teacher narrates the story outline in english. the body language may help. for example, a teacher can stretch hi

22、s arms slowly when he says she is in a very big room; he can open his eyes widely with mouth opened when he says she is so beautiful a lady. as a result, the students will have such an impression: she is very beautiful indeed; a teacher who imitates the crying or the movement of the animals under th

23、e premise of teaching order will surely achieve a better effect.2. body language helps to improve speaking the spoken language is one of the important ways to communicate, so we should try to develop the students ability of speaking. the first lesson of every unit in senior english begins with dialo

24、gue. the teaching programs require the teachers to organize the class to practice english according to the characteristics of dialogue. generally speaking, the body language can arouse and sustain the students interest of learning and using english. in the english class, the teachers should not only

25、 use body languages themselves, but also ask the students to use them according to the different situation. during the introduction, the teacher should use the new vocabularies and sentence structures together with a vivid expression and mating gestures as possibly as he can. he smiles when he says

26、hello to the class; he shakes hands with some students saying nice to meet you; he writes name down on the blackboard; after his introduction, the teacher can create a circumstance for the students to practice: mary and j ack are new classmates. they are walking together in the street, and they meet

27、 one of j acks old friends, yangpei. then yangpei and mary are introduced to each other by j ack. after the students practice the dialogue is introduced naturally from it. usually, the application of body language in different situations will result in an attracting and successful lesson.3. body lan

28、guage helps to improve reading reading aloud helps the students to get a correct pronunciation and intonation and to develop the combination of vocabularies pronunciation, spelling and meaning. furthermore it also helps the students to find out the articles internal feelings and appreciate the beaut

29、y of the language. a linguist ever said: apoem is not a poem until it is read. reading aloud is basic in the middle school, and the teachers should make full use of body language to develop the students ability of reading aloud.when reading the sentences, attention should be paid to where to speak s

30、oftly, emphasize, and raise or lower our tone. to make it clear, we can imitate the strong or soft pats that are used in music teaching, which means to use the arcs to represent different tones. generally speaking, we use falling tones in declarative and special interrogative sentence, first rising

31、tones and then falling tones in the choosing interrogative sentence. the students in the middle school are not often accustomed to and always confuse them, however, with the help of body language, they can solve the problem much more easily. after training for some times, as soon as they read the se

32、ntences, they will remind themselves of the gestures. in a word, body language can helps to improve reading.4. body language helps to improve writing. writing is one of the four basic skills of learning language, and it is so important a skill to communicate with others. since the students learn eng

33、lish as a media for communication, they should have the ability of writing.to get rid of the students feelings of being dull and tiring, an english teacher has to use every possible method. this is the same to the writing. teachers use different method in order to improve the students ability of wri

34、ting, among which, the application of body language can deepen the object impression, such is magnificent in developing the students writing ability.however, the students can write excellent articles if they have the experience. in and out of class, we should ask the students to participate some eng

35、lish-related activities, and then ask them to write it down. take the first snow in winter for example, having enjoyed themselves in the beautiful snowing and been given some hints, the students can write much better a composition. iii. how to use body language reasonably in english teachingwhen we

36、know body language is very important, how can we use the body language? in my own opinion, i think a teacher can combine spoken english with body language together when the teacher teach english. frankly speaking, teacher can use body language as possible as you can.teachers can use their facial exp

37、ression reasonably in class. smiling shows teachers friendly attitude to their students. how can teachers bring their smiling to the students .i suggest that a teacher should tell his students some humorous stories which he have read. what is more, a teacher can encourage his students to act out som

38、e funny, lovely and interesting short plays or to tell other some interesting tales and so on. being a teacher, he should get into the habit of humorous and optimistic life view. sometimes, teachrs students behavior are not so good as you have expected in their class. they can keep still and stare a

39、t him or her, which shows their anger or attention to him or her. then his students must realize what is his care. as a result, teacher can go on with his lesson without stopping class for a long time. sometimes, the students who are shy dare not answer your questions loudly. at that time, teacher c

40、an show your smiling to encourage them efficiently. in the end, he will finish his class smoothly.in some class, a teacher can inspire his students to do some interesting tries. for example, when we study something about water, teacher can make his students do some tries like this: first, fill in a

41、glass with some water. second, cover the glass with a piece of thick paper, and put one of his hands on the piece of paper. third, put the upside down. at last, move his hand away slowly. now , the teacher can ask them some questions about water in time because all of them must pay all of their atte

42、ntion to the try. i believe at that time all students must be very interested in the try and they are very excited about it. they will try best to finish their task to answer the questions, listen to their teacher carefully and think about it attentively.to make the class more vivid and impressive,

43、a teacher should do his best to make them interested in his class. what he have worn and his look will affect his teaching result. adding some body action will make what he want to teach vivid. if the teacher want to tell the differences between some expressions such as “bring” and “take”, “empty” a

44、nd “full”, “smile” “laugh” “laugh at” and so on, he can make his students do all these actions to express them clearly and impressively. from these actions, the teacher can enrich his class a lot. especially in some primary schools, he can use body language a lot.in some cases, a teacher students ne

45、ed him to inspire and encourage them constantly. when they finish their tasks, they are expecting to be judged. teacher can show his forgiveness to them when they have made some mistakes and put his thumb to express “good” “great” or “excellent” when they carry out the tasks correctly. as a result,

46、they will try their best to study english well.being a teacher, he will love his students whom he is teaching. a pat on his or her head or a smile can show a teachers love and encouragement. when a teacher meet someone that he knows, he can use some gestures to say “hi” or “ hello” to them. that a t

47、eacher picks up a piece of waste paper and then put it into a dustbin will set a very good example to his students and contribute a great deal to help his students to get into a very good habit and form a attentive life view. when a student does not look at the teacher but other places, the teacher will know that he or she does not listen to the teacher lesson carefully. therefore, when a teacher gives his students a lesson, you should often look around the classroom to make sure that your students are listening to your class very ca
