16、ce of clothing/ an article of clothing 【辨析】:clothing; clothes;dress 1)clothing 为不可数名词,是衣服的总称。clothing 作主语时,谓语动词用单数。 2)clothes 统指身上穿的具体衣服,包括上衣、裤子、内衣等,不与数词连用,但可以说 many/these clothes, a suit of clothes. clothes 作主语时,谓语动词用复数形式。如:The clothes she wears are made by herself. 3) dress 作可数名词时,通常指妇女、儿童的服装;作不可数

17、名词时,指某种特殊服装,尤指在社交场合穿的服装。如: She is wearing a blue dress. 她穿着一件蓝色连衣裙。 She had to wear evening dress to go to the company party. 她要穿晚礼服出席公司的晚会。13.
