2、le spare no money or energy on beautiful clothes, fashionable hair styles,the decoration of their houses and even the improvement of their looks. But it seems to me,all these are more or less confined to the beauty in appearan _,or rather,the outward beauty. In my opinion,we shouldnt only pay attent
3、ion to beautiful appearan _ and neglect the beautification of the mind and what we are after should be the perfect unity of the outward beauty and the inner beauty. As we all know,so far as objects and ani _ls are con _rned,there is only beautiful appearan _ to be mentioned, but to us hu _nbeings, a
4、lthough the outward beauty really _tters, the inner beauty is much more important. This was confirmed by a famous Russian writer in words much like this: A person is not lovely for being beautiful but beautiful for being lovely. 6、or _n _. The moment she was to appear on the stage,she suddenly asked for more reward. Worse still,after her request was satisfied, she didnt begin to sing at on _. Instead,she took her time to count all the money pie _ by pie _. Thus she kept the au _n _ waiting for half an hour. So when she at las
7、t showed up and started to sing Devotion of Love,a _n rose up from his seat and shouted at her,You dont have any devotion of love. You are not qualified to sing this song ! Hearing this, the singer stopped singing and began to shout abuses with her finger pointed at the _n. At this time the whole au
8、 _n _ burst into an uproar. How disappointed her keen listeners were when they learned this! It is the singer herself who spoiled her beautiful i _ge in the eyes of others. Now, Im ing to another true story. Its about a poor, ordinary looking old wo _n. She was a widow without any children, living b
9、arely from hand to mouth by picking odds and ends from rubbish heaps. However,she took in more than ten homeless orphans suessively and _naged to bring them up. Every day she labored from morning till night. In order to earn as much money as possible to raise the children and to keep them in school,
10、she even went to a hospital regularly to sell her blood. She got so weak for the loss of blood that she sometimes fell in a faint on her way home. When asked why she chose to burden herself with so _ny children,she _iled and simply answered,Oh,I love children and I like to have their pany. Though th
11、e old wo _n was poor _terially, she was full of affection and rich in spirit. She was loved dearly by her children. She was also highly appreciated by the local gover _ent, and truly respected by people in her munity. Maybe you cant help wondering, What _kes that ordinary wo _n so extraordinary? It
12、is nothing else but her inner beauty, her true devotion of love without any thought of rewarding. 14、in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be aepted. But one of the panel members told me: You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged. My life has never been the same sin _. I used bigger heels to plement my height and psychological _neuvers and tricks to hide
15、my lack of confiden _. But no _tter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing. As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English _. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by n
16、ature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, on _ on stage, I was totally absorbed in the perfor _n _ and my humorous nature was put to full use. As the dwarf, I was a big hit. Yes, each of us is only one amo

She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life t

She witnessed a s _ne, a s _ne taking us to a pla _ we never i _ged weve ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas 5) cuddled their babies. 22、one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Dian Fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenviro _ent there until the very end of her life. To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable s _ne but also acts as a 6) timeless rem
23、inder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenviro _ent. Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so _ny new problems. On the one hand, touri _, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st _ntury, provides people with the great opportuni
24、ty to see everything there is to see and to go any pla _ there is to go. It has bee a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving for _ in GDP growth. It has the _gic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, _ny problems can our-natural s _n
25、es arent natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walk _n and wear Nike and Reeboks. All these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to t
26、he realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our resour _s. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put touri _ again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has _de 20xx the year of ecotouri _, for th
27、e first time to bring to the worlds attention the benefits of touri _, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenviro _ent. The other night, as l saw the moon linger over th
30、e land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. And all those unforgettab
