The teacher was mad at the boy. The teacher was angry with the boy. be mad about意为“对迷的发狂” eg. I am mad about collecting stamps
5、. get mad意为“变疯,变的恼怒” eg. I got mad yesterday because of his lie.2. Lana said she would bring some drinks and snacks to your house. “bring.to.”表示“(从别处把某人或某物)带来”。bring的反义词是take,表示把某人或某物“带走(到别处)”。 eg. Please bring the book to school tomorrow. Please take the empty cup away.3、Lana said she wasnt mad at
6、Marcia anymore. “not nay more”表示“不再”同义词是no more(一)、no longer与no more的意义区别 1). no longer中的longer是副词long的比较级,long有after a certain point of time(在某一时刻以后)之意,着重表示时间的不再延续,意为“如今不再”。no longer等于not. any longer。 2). no more中的more是many / much的比较级,more有again之意,着重表示数量或程度的减少,意为“再也没有更多(大)的数量(程度)”。no more等于not. any
7、 more。 (二)、时态区别 1). no longer / not. any longer表示不再继续或再现过去某一时刻发生或存在而一直延续的动作 / 状态时,常用于过去时、现在时或将来时的句子中。如: He was no longer a thief. 他不再是小偷了。 When there is no gravity, our feet no longer stay on the ground. 如果没有重力,我们的脚就不能再站稳在地面上。 2). no more / not. any more表示再也不重复过去反复发生的动作时,常用于过去时或将来时的句子中。如: Now she wa
8、snt afraid any more. 现在她再也不害怕了。 (三)、位置区别 当修饰动词时,no longer通常置于be或行为动词前;no more一般置于行为动词后。not. any longer与not. any more常置于句末。如: She could no longer find a way to get into the valley. 她再也找不到进山谷的路了。 Time or opportunity lost will return no more. 机不可失,时不再来。 (四)、修饰动词区别 1). no longer / not. any longer 习惯用来修饰
9、表示状态的持续动词(如wait, live, work等)。如: Dont wait any longer. 别再等了。 She could not keep up with him any longer.她不能再赶上他了。 2). no more / not. any more通常用来修饰表示具体动作的瞬间动词(如go, stand, visit等)。如: We couldnt stand it any more. 我们不能再忍受了。 (五)、作用区别 两者都可用来修饰动词,在句中作状语。当no more作“不再(有、存在)”解时,还可作定语和宾语。如: Later when they ar

21、passed on. 他停了一会儿,又继续向前走去2、suppose的基本意思是“猜想;以为;假定”,但在具体的语言环境中意义不止于此,其用法如下:1). suppose + that 从句,表示“猜测;假定”。如: I suppose that you are right. 我想你是对的。 You can suppose that A equals B. 你可以假定A等于B。2). suppose +名词 / 代词 + to be.,表示“认为是”。如:Many people suppose him to be over 50. 许多人认为他已经50多岁了。3). suppose用于祈使句中
22、,表示“让”。如: Suppose we go for a swim. (= Lets go for a swim.) 让我们去游泳吧。3、be supposed to 的用法 用法一: be supposed to. 其中to是动词不定式符号,不是介词,其后要跟动词原形。当be supposed to. 的主语是“人” 时,意为“应该 ”;“被期望”,它可以用来表示劝告、建议、义务、责任等,相当于情态动词should。如:Everyone is supposed to wear a seat-belt in the car. 每个人在汽车里都应该系安全带。Teachers are suppo
23、sed to treat all the students alike老师应该对所有的学生一视同仁。 用法二:当be supposed to. 的主语是“物”时,它表示“本应;本该”,用于表示“某事本应该发生而没有发生”。如:The new laws are supposed to prevent crime. 这些新法令本应该起到防止犯罪的The train was supposed to arrive half an hour ago. 火车本应在半小时之前到达。用法三: be supposed to后面接“have + 过去分词”时,表示“本应该做某事而没做”。如:You are sup
24、posed to have handed in your homework by now. 现在你应该已经把作业交上来了。 He is supposed to have arrived an hour ago. 他应该一小时前就到了。用法四: be supposed to. 的否定结构为be not supposed to.,它常用于口语中,意为“不被许可;不应当”。如:She was not supposed to be angry about that. 她本不该为那件事而生气的。 You are not supposed to smoke on the bus. 你不应该在公共汽车上吸烟
