Teaching resource analysisThe lesson is from Go For It Junior English in the second term of Grade 7, which is published by People Education Press. The topic is about everyday activities, so it is easy to arouse students learning interest. It fits the Curriculum. Present continuous tense is further studied.II. Students analysis Most of the students are group learners. They have learned present continuous tense. They can understand some words and some simple sentences. Most of them are curious about new things and have a strong desire to learn better. Watching TV is very common in their daily life. However, their English levels are different. They need teachers help and encouragement in their further study.III. Teaching Aims1. Knowledge and skill aims:After learning this lesson, the students will be able to fluently speak the following chunks, and they will be more familiar with the structure of the Present Progressive Tense watch TV, read a newspaper, talk on the phone, use the computer, make soup, wash the dishes, listen to a CD, do morning exercise,go to the movies- What are you doing? - Im watching TV.- Is he/she watching TV? -Yes, he/she is. /No, he/she isnt. 2. Ability aims:In doing group work, the students will develop cooperative learning and inquiry learning abilities.3. Emotional aims Whatever you are doing, just have fun.In talking about their own and others family photos, the students will grow a stronger love for their family members.IV. S1: Im standing. T: What are they doing? S1: Theyre standing, too. T: Whats he/she doing? S1: He/She is reading. Drill the patterns.Step 3 Presentation (6 mins)1. Show some family photos to teach the new words and phrases in 1a.2. Learn the Yes/No questions and answers in present continuous tense.(1) Im standing. Are you standing?Yes, I am. / No, Im not.(2) Theyre standing. Are they standing?Yes, they are. / No, they arent.(3) He/She is reading.Is he/she reading?Yes, he / she is. / No, he / she isnt.Step 4 Practice (10 mins)1. Drill the patterns.2. Drill the new words and phrases in the pattern above.3. Match the words with the people in Section A 1a. 4. Ask and answer about the pictures in 1a. 5. Act out the conversations.Step 5 Listening (3 mins)1. Now listen and find out what the people are doing for the first time. Listen again and write numbers from 1a (1b) .
