Unit6 Section A(1a-2d)一、 教学目标1、Language goals 语言目标 (1)、Key Words and Chunks For applying: shoot, stone, weak, god, remind, bit, a little bit, silly, silly, instead of, (2)、 Finish listening to 1b、2a、2b.2、Ability goals 能力目标 (1). 教会学生正确掌握并运用连词unless, as soon as, sothat引导状语从句的用法。 (2). 积累丰富与讲故事相关的话题词汇、语块和句子表达。 (3). 通过运用所学知识进行对话及听说练习。3、 Emotional goals 情感目标 通过了解古代寓言故事和西方故事,学习英雄人物不怕困难、锲而不舍、 积极想办法解决问题的精神。二、教学重难点1. 教会学生能够用英语讲故事。2. 教会学生能够迅速准确地从所给材料中获取信息。3. 引导学生掌握讲故事的固定句型。三、 学情分析本单元的教学为八年级下期内容,学生已通过一年半的初中英语学习,掌握了一些语法知识。比如一般现在时、现在进行时、一般过去时、if引导的状语从句等,所以对本课型的状语从句和一般过去时态用法理解掌握起来应该很容易。学生在小学语文里就学过愚公移山、西游记等童话故事,对童话故事有一定的了解,学生对此话题也有一定兴趣。因此可以以通过播放卡通片,然后再问问题的方式引入话题。四、教学方法:Teaching methods教法建议Task-Based Language Teaching任务型教学法Question and answer method问答法Discussion method 讨论法Cooperating study合作学习法五、教学辅助 blackboard and chalk, computer , projector, flashcard, DVD,cartoon六、Teaching procedures 教学进程Step1. Leading-in and warming-up 引入与激趣活动 Greet Ss and play the cartoon Yu Gong moves a mountain.Then ask Ss to answer some questions about it.Whats the name of the story? ( Yu Gong moves a mountain. )Who are the main characters in the story?(Yu Gong and his family.)Do you know anything else about it? ( Its a traditional Chinese story.)Do you know other traditional Chinese stories? ( Kuafu Chased the Sun, Magic Brush Ma Liang, Change Flies to the Moon, Hou Yi Shoots the Suns) Step2. New points input 新知输入(贴标签)1.Language presentation(1)Show the new words on the big screen and teach Ss to learn them.once upon a time, shoot, stone, instead of, unless, a little bit, silly, god(2) Try to remember the new words. Activity 1a(3)Pair work. Get Ss to look at the pictures and read the names of the story in the box.(3)Then discuss with their partners and match the names of the stories with the pictures.(4)Check the answers.Journey to the West b Yu Gong Moves a Mountain d Hou Yi Shoots the Suns a Nu Wa Repairs the Sky c2.Read the phrases together and try to make Ss understand their Chinese meanings.3. Listening practice 听力训练 Activity 1b(1)Pre-listening. Get Ss to look at 1b and read the facts to help them know what they should do in this part.(2)While-listening. T tells Ss they will hear a Chinese traditional story. Listen and see who knows the name of the story. Play the recording for the first time. Ss who know the name of the story may hand up. (3) Play the recording again. Let Ss check the facts they hear. Check the answers._ The two mountains were very high and big. _ A very old man tried to move the mountains. _ A man told Yu Gong that he could never do it. 4.Post-listening .Read the questions in the box in 1c. Ss discuss the questions with their partners. Then let some pairs ask and answer the questions. A: How does the story happen? B:Once upon a time, there was a very old man. There were two mountains near his house. They were sohigh and big that it took a long time to walk to the other side.A: What happened next?B: The old man told his family that they should all help him to move the mountains.A: Where would they put all the earth and stone from the mountains? B: They would put them into the sea. In this part, Ss try to understand all the conversation and answer the questions correctly.5. Activity 2a, 2b2a and 2b provide listening practice using the target language.6. Pre-listening. Get Ss to look at the pictures in 2a. Discuss the things they are going to do. While-listening. (1)Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the pictures. (2)Play the recording again to check the answers. T can give Ss the opportunities to show their answers.The answers to 2a: 1. Yu Gong and his family moved the earth and stone. 2. An old man talked with Yu Gong.3. Yu Gongs family kept on digging . 4. Two gods took the mountains away.If Ss give some incorrect answers, T can play the recording again.Step3、Let Ss read the sentences below.1. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know what to do. 2.Play the recording for the Ss to circle the correct words in the brackets. 3.Play the recording again to check the answers. The answers to 2b: 1. children 2. weak 3. talking 4. two 5. know 4.Post-listening. As a post-listening task, T can ask Ss to retell the story according to the pictures in 2a.If Ss have difficulties in retelling the story, T can provide some key phrases to help them.5.They may work in groups. Let some Ss tell the story to the class and see which groups story is better. 6.Oral Output 口语输出 Activity 2d Wang Ming , Claudia and their teacher talk about their ideas about Yu Gong .T can guide Ss to understand the whole conversation. T can play the recording for Ss to listen and repeat. Read the conversation in roles.T can encourage Ss to read the conversation alone and find out the answers to the following questions such as,Q1:What do Wang Ming and Claudia think about the story of Yu Gong?Q2: Do you think it is a good way to solve the problem?Q3:What could Yu Gong do instead of moving the mountain?Q4:What does the teacher think of their ideas?Get Ss to share their answers and check the answers together.Ask Ss to practice several times and ask pairs to come to the front and role-play the conversation. If they can, they could act out their own conversations . Sentence Interpretation 难句理解This story reminds us that you can never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen.四、Summary1.let the students talk about what they have learned in the class. Put some key points on the Bd to form a clear mind map.五、Exercising。1 Guide Ss to work in groups and talk about how to tell a story:2 Get the Group leader (GL) to make a movie about YuGong.3.Act out the story in front of the class.六、 Homework 课后作业 1.
