Learn the English song .Key points:the language pointsuseful sentences.Difficult points: 1) The right attitude towards friends 2) be friendly to classmates3) The structures of simple sentences.Preparation: Prepare some words describing good friends and write them down on slides on paper.Teaching resources: word cards, some pictures,slide projector.Type of the lesson: listening, and singing .Teaching procedure1.Warming up(Singing “Good morning ”song, whose tune is from “Happy birthday ”song. Teacher entered the classroom. )T: Do you like singing? Who can sing a song for us? What about English songs? Introduce some famous but simple songs to the Ss such as “Twinkle stars”, “Jingle bell”, “Mary has a little lamb”, etc. Who can sing a song for us?(Maybe most of the Ss can only sing some Chinese songs. It doesnt matter, praise the Ss who have sung to get them excited. Its good for todays lesson)T: Yeah, you can sing Chinese songs very well. Today lets learn an English song, then you can sing to your parents in future. Now lets listen to a song: “Friendship Is Like the Breeze”. (Make sure they know the meaning of the song)After listening and singing, lead into new lesson. 2.New lessonStep 1: lead inTeacher show the questions one by one. 1.Who is your best friend? What do you like about him/her2. Do you ever argue with your best friend? Why?Teacher talk about the above questions with the students.Step 2: Read and findT: Read the text by yourselves fast and silently, please, and try to find the answers to the following questions:1.What did Grant like to play after class?2. Why did the two boys stop talking to each other?3.What made the two boys become friends again?4. What agreement did the two boys make?Check the answers with the class.Step 3: Further study of the textT: Read the text a second aloud, try to underline the language points and useful sentences.Step 4: Explanation(see slides) Explain the language points and useful sentences. Make sure Ss know the usagesStep 5: Do some exercises to consolidate the key points.Step 6: Discussion1)If you were Patrick what would you do? (suggested answer1: If I were Patrick I wouldnt let him copy my homework. I will just help him.2)Discuss in groups. Write down the words to describing good friends and bad friendsStep7: Let the students to show the words in front of the class.
