Its a IP card.” Compare the objects and make the students understand the meaning of“card”. (4) Show the toy telephone and ask the students “Whats this? Its a telephone.” Then practice the word “telephone”. 2. New Concepts:(1) Listen to the recorder twice and answer the questions: What does Li Dong want to do? Whose birthday is today? This is Helen speaking. This part is the main point of the text. “wait a moment” or “a moment , please” can use in deferent screen. Eg. You need the help of the clerk, but she is busy; Someone needs your help,but you are doing your homework, etc. 4) Teach the using of v.+ingI am standing here.You are sitting on your chairs.I am speaking to you.You are listening to me.3. Practice: 1) Practice the drill: “Is that Helen speaking?” Is that Helen/Tom/Billy/David/Miss Wu speaking? 2) Practice the drill: “This is Helen speaking.” 3) Shes doing some washing. Ask a student to the blackboard, and do the actions: wash, eat, drink, write, draw etc. Then the teacher asks: Whats he/she doing? The students answer: He/She is doing some washing. Review the L1 and L2 . Then make up the dialogues. 3. Review the verbs and phrases: do some washing, call, sing, dance. Then review the V.+ing. 4. Practice the V.+ing What is he/she doing?
