Why?Get the students to discuss the question trying to use the following words( individual work)Boring complicated dangerous exciting fast simple slow T: As we know, Yao Ming is a very good Chinese athlete playing basketball in the NBA. And the Chinese people are very proud of his achievement in basketball sport. Boys and girls, do you want to know something about NBA? Preview the Reading and Vocabulary以话题为核心,开拓自主创新的课堂教学-外研社选修七Basketball的课例研究报告一、教学设计背景:高中英语新课标每个模块都有一个中心话题,所有的教学都以话题为核心,功能为重点,结构为基础,最终落实在任务的完成上。Introduction是整个模块的“第一扇门”。对整个模块的学习有着举足轻重的地位。在以往的教学中我们常常对introduction只是作简单的介绍,粗略完成任务便开始下面的阅读教学,这样introduction这部分的教学常流于形式,往往导致学生参与热情不够高,忽略了对学生潜能的挖掘与激发,使学生感觉上课是被动地接受,对英语课堂教学渐渐失去兴趣。经过在实践中的反复探索,笔者认为,以话题为核心,以运用性任务为目标,围绕中心话题进行教学活动,可以避免孤立的语言形式操练,把不同技能训练结合一体,使学生体会实际生活中有意义的语言运用。我鼓励学生通过体育、实践、讨论、合作、探究等方式形成自主学习能力。在教学中我以学生为主体,根据学生兴趣特点设计大量的语言活动,激发学生的兴趣和求知欲,从而激发学生的自主学习能力、研究性学习能力以及合作学习能力。二、教材分析:本模块以basketball为话题,介绍了篮球知识和一些中外篮球明星。篮球是世界性运动项目,也是最受欢迎、集娱乐与锻炼身体为一身的大众活动。作为游戏,它是一项人们喜闻乐见的全民健身遇到的手段,具有活跃身心和健身强体的功能;作为竞技体育运动,其意义在于它是一项实施奥运争光战略的重要竞技项目.通过强者间的对抗与拼斗,能显示生命的活力,激励人们树立顽强的意志、勇敢的作风、集体主义精神和克服困难、自强不息、夺取胜利和为国争光的信念。对培养学生勇敢、机智、组织纪律性、集体主义精神和爱国主义情怀都有益处。虽然篮球是最安全的运动项目之一,但也有危险。通过本模块的学习,同学们还可以了解中外运动员赛场上不同风格。三、教学设计的思路和意图这是本模块的第一节课,笔者整合了introduction和cultural corner 作为整个模块的开篇教学。俗话说:好的开头是成功的一半。如果能在主要内容学习之前,让学生对整个模块的相关知识有所了解,并产生浓厚兴趣的话, 将会对后面的学习起到事半功倍的作用。本模块内容是很多学生感兴趣的篮球活动。我利用这一有利因素,激发学生的学习热情,调动他们学习的积极性,组织丰富恰当的活动,让学生通过听说读写练习,学习有关篮球的各种知识。更重要的是,帮助学生用英语进行交流,引导学生用英语表达对篮球的爱好和对篮球运动员的看法等。本节课introduction接触了有关篮球的基本知识,了解NBA的历史发展,复习和学习有关词汇,初步讨论对篮球的认识和看法。Cultural Corner让学生了解rugby、basketball、baseball等球类运动的起源、发展和现状,讨论这些运动在中国的流行状况,进一步加强中外文化的比较。教学思路:1、通过图片展示学习有关篮球的基本知识2、讨论篮球队以及中外优秀的篮球队员3、通过阅读了解NBA的历史发展和美国足球、篮球、棒球的起源及发展4、达成任务,展示成果,反馈学习情况四、课堂教学实录:在第一堂课中,笔者在(1)班是这样上的:Step I:Revision 复习本单元词汇Step II:Introduction介绍:教师根据图片的内容问一些有关篮球的常识性问题。1、 What is the picture about?2、 How do the players divided up their teamwork during the match?3、 What does a guard usually do? What does a forward usually do? What does a centre usually do? What does a referee usually do?4、 According to the picture, can you explain what a slam dunk is?Step III: Reading 阅读有关NBA的知识并回答下列问题:1、 Are the NBA and the BAA the same organization?2、 Are all the NBA team in the same country?3、 What is the difference between an amateur team and a professional team?Step IV:Discussion 讨论1、 Which words would you use to describe basketball?2、 Whats the main difference between basketball and other sports?3、 Which NBA basketball players do you know?Step V:Reading 阅读Cultural Corner 并回答书上问题Step VI:Homework 作业课后反思,本节课教学目的明确思路清晰,基本完成任务。但是学生自主发挥能力不够大,学生仅仅是被动的接受知识。课堂气氛沉闷,教学效果不佳。教学设计按部就班,没有新意。未能体现以学生为主体,教师为主导作用的自主性教学。基于以上情况,本人总结不足之处,作了以下教学设计的改进,并在(2)班进行了尝试:Step I:lead-in导入:通过姚明的图片激发学生的兴趣,问Do you like playing or watching basketball? Why?Which word would you use to describe basketball?Step II: Show the picture of the basic knowledge of basketball and answer the questions(展示有关篮球基本知识的图片,激发学习兴趣,调动学习气氛)1、 How many teams are there in a basketball match?2、 How many players does each team have in a basketball match?3、 How do the players divided up their teamwork during the match?4、 What does a guard usually do? What does a forward usually do? What does a centre usually do? A. how to play these games B. who invented the games C. how the games became popular D. how the games came into beingStep V: Summary and Home work课后反思:在第二次上课之后,我觉得本堂课总体上无论在教学设计还是教学效果来说,都优于上一节课。成功之处有以下几点:1、 导入自然新颖,能激发学生兴趣,学生反应热烈,且能够运用许多所学词汇表达自己的观点。2、 在设计篮球与其他球类区别时,通过图片与填空结合学生活动,完成此任务效果较好。3、 Cultural Corner 设计中把简单的问答题设计成高考题型有助于培养学生的创新思维能力。4、 设计了多个学生感兴趣的话题,使学生积极参与课堂活动,反应热烈。不足之处:1、 教学设计虽层层深入,但衔接还不够完美。2、 在设计你所喜欢的NBA球队时,缺乏讨论NBA球队的核心人物,尤其应该突出讨论姚明和易建联以培养学生的爱国主义情怀。3、 Cultural Corner部分设计时间太短,结尾欠缺热烈气氛。为了使这堂课更加完美,本人总结前两次不足之处,做了以下教学设计,并在重点班进行了尝试,取得了明显的效果。教学设计过程:Step I:Lead-in导入:通过播放姚明的多媒体录像,提起学生的兴趣。问: Do you like playing or watching basketball?
