As is described in the issue, the author considers that formal education tends to restrain our mind and spirit rather that set them free. It is essentially imperative that the idea and the reason should be thoroughly analyzed before we determine whether it is true or not. To begin with, it should be analyzed whether the conclusion prove true in all scenarios. In addition, adequate attention should be focused on whether the alleged flaws can be improved or overcome, and the cost and possibility for it. Unless the core conception is thoroughly systematically examined, the conclusion drawn out of it will prove on adequate and ineffective.Admittedly, it is shrewd to acknowledge that in some conditions, the issue may be true, though there are some distinct flaws in it. For example, Chinese education is ever focused on how students deal will test. It is possible of students to learn something via this way of education. However, the creativity of teenagers is severely ruined and students are more likely to be better at test-taking rather than taking it into practice. And the conservative and rigid education in politics narrows the eyesight of students much more than foreigners can expect. However, as opposed to the alleged result, in some scenarios, formal education might broaden the eyesight of students. In addition, for those coming from remote areas, whose original mind is not open enough, especially developing countries where the education facility is inadequate, the formal education can well help broaden the eyesight of them. For example, though American education is severely criticized by many native people, the foreigners such as us Chinese students can learn much and broaden their mind and spirit by being educated in formal American education. Furthermore, in some scenarios, even if the formal education may not set our mind free, teaching wont restrain them. We can learn much fundamental knowledge which is very important in the later development. Whether the mind can be set free depends much on the personal quality. For example, Bill Gates, Albert Einstein, and Jobs all indifferently get national formal education. However, they all become great people by their endless effort and talent. On the contrary to the opinion held in the issue, the formal education contributes a lot as basis to their achievement later. In such conditions, the education is irrelevant to the alleged result.From the aforementioned analysis, simply based on unsound assumption, it is irrational to draw the conclusion that formal education will restrain our mind and spirit rather than set them free, in the sense that in some scenarios, the proposal will cause the irrelevant result.
