AGREEMENT OF ACADEMIC EXCHANGE AND COOPERATION BETWEENBELLEVUE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, U.S.AANDBEIJING UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, CHINAI. OBJECTIVES AND FORMS OF COOPERATION A. Under the terms of this agreement Bellevue Community College and Beijing University of Agriculture agree to promote the development of college education and scholarship in areas of common interest. B. Both institutions will confer with each other to develop goodwill and friendship between the two institutions and promote educational exchange. C. Both institutions agree to the following general forms of cooperation: 1. Identification of major areas, disciplines or topics of mutual interest which could lead to exchange or joint activity; 2. Exploration of opportunities to receive faculty who have an interest in teaching or scholarship within the other institution; 3. The host institution will develop an individual agreement, as needed, regarding: a. period of scholarship or teaching, b. travel costs and living expenses during the period, c. office facilities, program support assistance in finding housing and other necessary arrangements, d. visas, and e. any relevant legal issues or concerns. 4. Exploration of joint scholarship interests between the two institutions; 5. Exploration of opportunities to support the exchange of students; and 6. Exchange of bulletins, teaching materials and other items of mutual interest. II. TERMS AND CONDITIONS A. This agreement shall commence on the execution date and shall continue for five (5) years with annual reviews. B. Details of specific areas of co-operation shall be drafted in the form of an agreement and attached as separate schedules. The terms and duration of each schedule are to be independently agreed upon, and will be signed and dated by the appointed representative of each college. Any revision or modification will be in writing and by mutual agreement.C. Either institution may, with six (6) months written notice, terminate this agreement. D. If the agreement is terminated as set out in section C, it is agreed that both parties will work together to ensure that cooperative activities that have already commenced are, whenever possible, completed under the terms of the agreement. E. In the absence of early termination, the renewal of the Agreement shall be discussed by the two parties not less than six (6) months prior to the expiration date of the agreement. _ _ B.
