行，但亚必迭故事一直受到历代批评家的特别关注，特别是在人物评价、创 作可行性、戏剧化效果和功能等方面，争论颇多。大多数研究肯定了该故事对史诗 的重要作用，但对亚必迭故事在史诗中的具体作用和功能的探讨上存在分歧。因此， 本文以亚必迭故事为切入点，通过文本细读和对比分析的方法，从撒旦对立面、亚 当榜样和上帝正义之示范三个方面探讨亚必迭故事在史诗中不可替代的“支点”作 用。 本文认为，弥尔顿将亚必迭作为撒旦的反衬人物进行塑造，通过塑造亚必迭虔 敬、勇敢和忠诚的天使形象凸显和反衬撒旦骄傲、逞能和不忠的性格缺陷，而对二 者武力较量的描写亦是为了象征理智的胜利者必是武力的胜利者。同时，弥尔顿也 将亚必迭作为亚当的正面榜样进行塑造，在叙事长度相似的前提下，赋予二者相似 的需独自面临考验的处境，对比二者在行为举措和命运结局上的截然不同。在情节
