的教会女校。1 9 1 2 年，弘道女中由美国南长老会杭州贞才女学、美国北长老会 杭州育才女学和美国北浸礼会杭州蕙兰女学合并而成。这三所教会女校是后来 弘道女中乃至杭十四中蓬勃发展的基石。然而长久以来，由于原始资料匮乏等 原因，学术界一直忽视了对弘道女中三所前身的研究，在教会女校发展过程中 起着重要作用的传教士更是被历史所遗忘。本论文以现有相关教会原始资料为 主要依据，探究了弘道女中三所前身的创办发展过程，着重指出了主要传教士 的贡献，填补了该领域研究的空白。通过总结传教士的贡献，本论文进一步分 析了弘道女中三所前身的办学特点，旨在为如今的教育研究者提供启示。 本论文分为四部分。导论部分首先介绍了弘道女中，其次回顾了国内外学 术晃对弘道女中和其三所前身的研究现状。 第二部分根据1 9 世纪后半叶三所创办教会的发展状况以及当时杭州的情况 分析了创办弘道女中三所前身的必要性和必然性。 第三部分通过史料论证得出弘道女中的三所前身分别由传教士应思理夫 妇、甘路德夫妇和甘蕙德夫妇于1 8 6 7 、1 8 9 9 和1 9 0 2 年创办，其中贞才女学不 仅是杭州第一所教会女校，更是中国基督教女青年会的发源地。该部分同时指 出了上述传教士以及司徒尔夫人和李克兹姑娘的贡献，最后总结出三所女校合 并的原因是要整合办学资源，为创办基督教女子大学做铺垫。 第四部分从教学目标、课程设置、课外活动、教学方法和办学模式等方面 分析了弘道女中三所前身的办学特点。美国传教士在杭州办女校的根本目的是 为基督教培养女性领袖。在办学中，传教士秉承“中西合璧”的办学理念，注 重女生在校内外的全面发展，间接促进了中国女子教育的现代化。 关键词：传教士、杭州弘道女中、杭州贞才女学、杭州育才女学、杭州蕙兰 女学 i
