Unit2 I used to be afraid of the dark. Period 1 Teaching aims :Master the phrase of used to ,talk about the past and todays appearance 、 personality and hobby.Step 1 Ask the students to describe peoples appearance.Step 2 Ask the students to describe peoples personality.Then Write the words on the blackboard. Appearance : tall、short thin、 fat 、beautiful 、long hair 、a medium build 、glasses.Personality :outgoing 、easygoing、serious、funny、friendly、shy、smart.Read these words, let the students follow me.Step 3 Then I show students a photo of mine taken years ago and says to students :if are there any differences? Let them think it over ,then answer the question . Students can understand that everyone could change .Step 4 Teach students how to use used to.Explain the phrase. And differentiate the phrases used to be used to do sth be used to doing sthe.g. I used to go to school by bus. Stamps are used to send letters. May is used to going to school on foot.Write some exercises on the blackboard:1) 汤姆过去经常在星期六上网。(翻译)2) I used to go to a movie on Sunday evening.( 变否和一般疑问句)Step 5 Ask the students to work in pairs with the words and phrases above .A:Did you use to be short ?B: Yes, I did.A:Did you use to have straight hair?B:No, I didnt .Step 6 Ask the students to talk to each other with the following sentences pattens. Did you use to be .? Did you use to have.? Did you use to wear.? Were you .?Step 7 Make a dialogue .Set a situation,you havent seen your classmates for several years. Now you met in the street and talked to each other with the following words.1) What did you use to look like ?2) I used to be /have /wear .Step 8 Listen to the tape Section A ,1b ,2a and 2b. For the first time , just listen . For the second time , write down the answers. After that ,check the answers.Homework 1) Memorize the new words and phrases . 2) Write an article about a family member , talk about his/her past and todays looks and pattens.教学反思:这堂课单元的第一课时,而学习的重点就是区分used to & be used to ,因为展示了小时候的照片进行教学,学生的反应都比较活跃。这也是达到了我的教学目的。当然在随后的时间里,也让学生自己试着运用used to 进行对话练习,效果也不错。对于部分英语程度较好的学生,可以较快的掌握短语的用法,但是还是有相当一部分的学生对于口语练习等等
