I sat there waiting for about an hour. Suddenly, a big beautiful deer appeared less than 20 feet away from me. There was no cover near him. Surely I could shoot him.To my surprise,he came toward me! He was curious,I suppose,or maybe he was stupid. For this was not a youngster, but a fully grownup one. He must have known about men and their guns. But this deer came closer, and I still waited. His big eyes never moved away from my face. His wonderful head with a set of antlers (鹿角) was clearly in sight.I was getting a bit nervous as he walked closer. A big deer can do a lot of damage. Well, he walked right up to where I was sitting. Then he stopped and looked at me.What happened next was hard to believe. But it all seemed quite natural. I held out my hands and scratched his head right between the antlers. And he liked it. The big, wild, beautiful deer bent his head.I scratched and touched his head and body. His nose touched my shoulder. I fed him with my last sandwich.Well, he finally went his way, down the hill. Shoot him? Not me. You wouldnt, either. So after that. I just watched him go, a strong deer carrying a proud head.I picked up my gun, and started walking back. Suddenly,I heard two shots, one after another. If you have hunted much, you will know what two shots mean. They mean a kill. I had forgotten that there were other hunters around. You will now understand why I gave up hunting from that day on.1How the deer behaved toward the writer shows that_Ait pretended to be friendly to the writerBit wanted to attack the writerCit was quite friendly to the writerDit was too scared to run away2You can infer from the passage that_Aa grownup deer usually will not get close to men with gunsBthe writer was a little nervous at first as he had been attacked by a big deer beforeCthe writer decided not to kill the deer the moment the deer walked up to himDthe writer had waited for about an hour before the deer appeared3After reading the whole passage,we can know that the passage is written in a(n)_tone.AWorriedBexcitedCSadDhappy4According to the passage, the reason why the writer gave up hunting is that_Ahe lost heart as he missed a good chanceBhe felt guilty and was sorry for the innocent(无辜的) deerChe wanted to do something for wildlife protectionDhe realized hunting is too dangerous答案与解析1C推理判断题。 根据第二段中的“To my surprise,he came toward me!He was curious,I suppose,or maybe he was stupid. For this was not a youngster, but a fully grownup one.He must have known about men and their guns.” BOne day last month, I read a story about two teachers who gave awards to their students. The awards were labelled the “8th Annual Ghetto (贫民区) Classroom Awards”. The teachers were intended to be “lighthearted” and they didnt mean anything bad. One student was recognised for his academic difficulties with the award. The world learned about it because his mother posted it on social media. She wasnt proud. She was angry, confused and hurt for her son. Did I mention that the students to whom the awards were given were in a class for kids who receive special services for learning disabilities? Yes, the “Ghetto Classroom”was the special education classroom. When I read this story, I was sure of three things:That student got the message that he was a loser; he would never forget those teachers; he would head to high school without a lot of confidence.Humour can be tricky. I learned this the hard way, in my first year of teaching. Someone mentioned that one of my students, whom I had placed into the “athletic” category, had taken ballet lessons for years, and I gently teased her for it. At least I thought it was gentle. I also thought it was okay, until the day when she came to me after class and told me that it hurt her feelings and shed like me to stop.Im thankful every day that she had the courage to talk to me. Over the years I think I figured out how to throw away my sarcastic (挖苦的) wit (风趣) and learned how to have humour without being hurtful. Its really quite simple: You can make fun of yourself in a selfdeprecating (自我贬低的) way, but never make fun of your students.5We can learn from Paragraph 1 that the awards were most probably given to_Adraw the attention of parentsBmake students in the class laughCencourage students to study harderDplease those who had made progress6In the authors opinion, the award_Ashowed the teachers were really funnyBwould affect the student negativelyCwould be encouraging to the studentDmeant the teachers disliked the student7What was the girls attitude towards the authors teasing?AUncaring. BInterested.CAnnoyed. DApproving.8After reading the text, we learn that teachers shouldnt_Amake fun of themselvesBlook down upon their studentsCjoke about their students for funDtry to be funny in front of students答案与解析两位老师为了达到愉悦大家的效果设立了一个奖项,老师并没有恶意,但是获奖同学却受到了伤害甚至是侮辱。 The teachers were intended to be “lighthearted”and they didnt mean anything bad.One student was recognised for his academic difficulties with the award. That student got the message that he was a loser;he would never forget those teachers;he would head to high school without a lot of confidence. I also thought it was okay, until the day when she came to me after class and told me that it hurt her feelings and shed like me to stop. You can make fun of yourself in a selfdeprecating(自我贬低的) way,but never make fun of your students. .七选五As children grow, so does their desire to become independent._1_As parents, our job is to find the right balance between kids desire for independence and the need to keep kids safe. Kids need to be allowed, in fact encouraged; they like to be given certain risks._2_The right risk level for your child will depend on their age, developmental level, and character. It will change over time, and there are few hard and fast rules that apply to every child._3_Every time you put your kids in the car you are putting them at risk. It is a fact of life. So what should a parent do? We must encourage them to explore their world while setting clear limits where safety is an issue._4_We must let them run, but be prepared to catch them when they fall. We cant take their steps for them; we can only point out the path. Its hard to imagine when they are small, but someday very soon they will be walking, riding a bike, even driving!_5_AChildren do not often want to become independent.BIt is impossible for any of us to live completely riskfree.CThe goal
