大学英语精读(第一册)课程教学大纲(Twenty-first Century College English )课程性质:通识教育必修课 课程编码:学 分:6 周 学 时:4 总 学 时:72适用对象:全校非英语本科专业开课单位:人文艺术系 执 笔 人:张登峰编制时间:2013年11月一、课程的性质、地位和任务1、大学英语教学是高等教育的一个有机组成部分,大学英语精读课程是大学生必修的一门基础课程。它是以英语语言知识与应用技能、学习策略和跨文化交际为主要内容,以外语教学理论为指导,并集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。2、大学英语的教学目标是培养学生的英语综合应用能力,特别是听说能力,使他们在今后工作和社会交往中能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流,同时增强其自主学习能力,提高综合文化素养,以便更好地适应我国社会经济发展和国际交流的需要。二、课程教学内容及要求第一章 Unit one (8学时)(一)内容提要Main Reading: My University Related Reading: Happy Birthday, HBS!(二)要求与说明1、语言知识:words and phrases:Play an important role in, among others, award, insist, adapt, absorb, instinct, apply, threat, appeal, perspective, available.2、语言技能:Listening and speaking: give an oral presentation to the class about famous foreign universities;Reading and writing: Learn about some foreign universities; Familiarize yourself with the words, expressions, and sentence patterns related to universities; Use these words, expressions, and sentence patterns in writing and speech.3、 学习策略: 学生一定程度上形成自主学习,有效交际、信息处理、英语思维能力。4、情感态度: 学生能在多种英语学习情景中分析和表达自己,体验用英语交流的成功与喜悦,以及培养合作精神、互助精神。5、拓展学习推荐:Growing Pains;Online resource: /icb/icb.do了解美国大学对学生的评价方式等等6、 读写:要求学生掌握本单元的语言点,熟练运用本单元的基本句型与表达法,学习使用不同的英语句型;7、听说:学会并熟练介绍本单元着重介绍的美国顶尖名校。(三)重点. Learn to write varied sentences:Simple sentenceCompound sentenceComplex sentence(四)难点:1). be concerned with, by instinct; 2) be absorbed into something3) adapt yourself/itself etc. (to something)第二章 Unit Two(8学时)(一)内容提要Main Reading: Importance of English Related Reading: English: a World Language (二)要求与说明1、语言知识:words and phrases: conversational, gradually, handle, unconsciously, challenge, objection, register, impatience, parallel, switch, be responsible for, come to a halt, back and forth, knock down, fall apart, call on, refer to, now that.2、语言技能:Listening and speaking: Learn different ways of starting conversations with strangers. Learn to summarize and discuss the text; Learn to retell stories; Learn to take some notes on what you hear.Reading and writing: Know the way how the author presents the ideas: from general advice to specific examples; follow the way to write a short paragraph3、学习策略: 学生一定程度上形成自主学习,有效交际、信息处理、英语思维能力。4、情感态度: 学生能在多种英语学习情景中分析和表达自己,体验用英语交流的成功与喜悦,以及培养合作精神、互助精神。 5、读写:要求学生理解东西言语交际方式的差异,从而把握包含在这些言语外壳中的文化内涵;掌握本单元的语言点,熟练运用本单元的基本句型与表达法,学习按事情的发展顺序进行写作的方法。6、听说:了解跨文化交际中容易引发误解的语境或场合,并掌握相应的交际策略。7、拓展学习推荐:语言与文化邓炎昌、刘润清(三)重点1Learn the cultural differences between the ways Japanese and Westerners talk to each other.2.
