(2)Itbecomesthepoplitealarterybypassingthroughtheadductortendinousopening.

1)Arisesfromtheposterolateralsideofthefemoralarteryabout4cmbelowtheinguinalligament.

Ⅰ)Deepfascia

1.Thedeepfasciasurroundsthelegandformstwointermuscularseptatobeattachedtothefibula.Dividedthelegintothreecompartments-anterior,lateralandposterior-eachofwhichcontainsagroupofmuscles,thevesselsandthenerves.

2.Attheankleitformsthickenedbands(retinacula)whichholdthetendonsdosetothejointandpreventthemfromspringingforwardsindorsiflexionoftheankle.

3.Superiorextensorretinaculumisabroadbandwhichextendsbetweenthefibulaandtheanteriorborderofthetibia.

4.InferiorextensorretinaculumisY-shaped.ThestemoftheYisattachedtotheuppersurfaceoftheanteriorpartofthecalcaneus.Medially,thelimbsoftheYseparate.Theupperisattachedtothemedialmalleolus,thelowerpassestothemedialsideofthefootandfuseswiththefasciaofthesole.
