frompromotingalternativeproteinstoaddressfoodinsecurityinIsraeltodevelopingadecision-makinglarge-languagemodelinKinyarwandaforthebenefitofcommunityhealthworkersinRwanda,theCentre

fortheFourthIndustrialRevolutionNetworkremains

committedtomakingprofoundandwidespreadimpactthroughresponsibleapplicationsoftechnology.The

storiesfeaturedinthisreportarejustthebeginningofthelastingimpactthatournetworkofcentrescancreate,showcasingthepoweroftechnologyand

Technologyisinherentlysocialinhowitisutilized

toconnect,serveandfeedpeople.Itcanhelpsolvetoday’sbiggestchallengesandunlockendless

opportunities.TheCentrefortheFourthIndustrial

RevolutionNetworkispredicatedontheunderstandingthatdifferentregionswillhavedifferentprioritiesfor

usingtechnologytoaddresskeychallenges.Centres

Theadoptionofartificialintelligence(AI)and

automationhasgallopedforward,completelyshiftingglobalprioritiesandusheringinwhathasbeen

dubbedtheIntelligentAge,whereAIandadvancedautomationbecomeubiquitousintechnologyanditsincreasingapplications.

Withmanyregionsconfrontingthequestionof

globalfoodsecurity,centreslooktoaddressthis

challengethroughtechnologyapplicationintraditionalfarmingandbyinnovatingfoodsystemsentirelyto

elevatethealternativeproteinsector.

Globalhealthandhealtheducationremain

cornerstonesectorsforsocieties,andcentresarelookingtoexpandknowledgeandaccesstohealthinformationandeducation.

Thisincludestheenablementofstate-orcountry-widedatasharingforhealthresearch,improvedresources

forhealthcareworkersandaccesstoeducationtodrivehealthinnovation.

Thefutureofenergyisintertwinedwiththe

futureofsustainability,withmanyseekingtousekey

technologiestoimproveenergyefficiencyandincreasedataavailabilityinthequestforasustainablefuture.

Themovementofpeopleandgoodsiscontinuouslybeinginnovated,increasingefficiencyandclosinggapscreatedbyinequalityandgeography.Throughdrone

andautonomouspilotsystems,centresarelookingtochangehowpeoplethinkaboutmobility.

EnsuringthattheworkforceandsocietyprogressalongsidetechnologicaladvancesiskeyforthefutureofeconomicgrowthandforcreatinganIntelligent

economy.Upskillingprogrammesandpilotsarekeytomodernizingeducationandkeepingworkersactiveinkeyindustries.

Thefutureoftheeconomyisupforgrabs,with

Citizens(AIUntukRakyat)programmeincollaborationwiththeMalaysiangovernment.TheprogrammeaimstoraisepublicliteracyonAI,andopenopportunitiestodeepenthetechnologicalknowledgeessentialinthe

India,incollaborationwiththeMinistryofElectronics

andInformationTechnology,GovernmentofIndia,haslaunchedtheAIforIndia2030initiativetopositionIndiaasagloballeaderinAIdevelopmentandadoption.

Theinitiative’sadvisorycouncilandexpertgroups

havecontributedtowardsenablingAIplaybooksfor

prioritysectorssuchasagricultureandmanufacturinginthemicro,smallandmediumenterprises,andforanAIsandbox.

TheCentrefortheFourthIndustrialRevolution

SaudiArabia,withtheglobalAVIATE(Advancing

AviationInnovationandAutonomousTechnologies)

initiative,isprioritizingthefutureofmovementand

advancedairmobility(AAM)applicationsinseveral

ofitsprogrammes,followingthecountry’sVision

2030strategy.Aspartofitsautonomousmobility

programme,thecentrehaspublishedawhitepaper

onautonomousmobility,whichservesasaframeworkforcountriesandregionsaroundtheworldtobring

autonomousandsmartmobilitytoscale

ThenextstepswillfocusonadvancingAAMapplicationsinSaudiArabia,collaboratingwith

localstakeholderstoleverageanewlydesignatedaircorridorandidentifyingkeysocietallyrelevantusecases.

Context:

AsAIbecomesubiquitousinMalaysiansociety,itisimperativethatallmembersofsocietyunderstandthetechnology

thattheyareusingintheirdailylives.

hAction:

DevelopedincollaborationwithIntelandlaunchedinJanuary2024,theAIforCitizens(AIUntukRakyat)programmehascuratedcontenttoreflectthelocalcontextandrealitiestoensurethatitresonates

withMalaysianlearners.Inclusivitywaskeyasthe

contentneededtobeaccessibletothepublic.To

achievethis,thecontentwastranslatedintothefourmajorlanguagesinMalaysia:English,Malay,TamilandChinese.

Context:

Theintegrationofautonomous

mobilityintotransportationsystemsholdspromisefortransformingurbanmobilityandlogistics.However,

thepathtofulldeploymentfacessignificantchallenges,including

fragmentedregulationsandthelackofmechanismstoscalepilotlearnings.

Action:

Toaddresstheissueoffragmentedregulations,

thisframeworkproposestheutilizationofregulatorysandboxesintestingautonomousmobility.

Sandboxesallowthetestingofnewtechnologiesunderreal-worldconditions,tobettertransition

frompilotstofull-scaleimplementation.

seekstoincubatealternativesby

developinginnovativeproteinsources,suchasplant-based,cultivatedand

TheCentrefortheFourthIndustrialRevolutionIsrael

partneredwithGFIIsraeltopublishacomprehensivereportthathighlightsIsrael’salternativeproteinsector.ThisreportnotonlyshowcasesIsrael’sadvancementsbutalsoservesasablueprintforothercountries

seekingtodeveloptheiralternativeproteinindustries.

sustaintheirincome.TheAI4AIinitiativehasdevelopedadigitalagricultureframeworkaimedatscalingtechnologiesoftheFourthIndustrialRevolutionintheagricultural

sectorthroughpublic-privatepartnershipstoimprovefarmers’accesstofinance,shrinkagriculture’senvironmentalimpactandreducepost-harvestsupply-chainlosses.

ThroughapilotprogrammeinTelanganastateinvolving7,000chilifarmers,theprogrammecalledSaaguBaaguwasabletodemonstratethetransformativepotential

ofagriculturaltechnology(agritech)onbothfarmers’

Basedontheencouragingresults,theGovernmentof

Telanganahasdecidedtoscaletheinitiativeto500,000farmersandimplementthestate’sfirstagricultural

dataexchange.AI4AIhasalsobuiltonthesuccessoftheTelanganapilotandlaunchedtheprogrammeintwomorestates,UttarPradeshandMaharashtra.

Itisnowexploringtheopportunitytoexpandthe

learningsacrosstheCentrefortheFourthIndustrialRevolutionNetworkandgovernmentsglobally.

initiativeto50,000farmersandplantoscaleittoimpact500,000farmersinthenexttwoyears.
