thecostofaluminiumpeakedat$2,700pertonneinJulythismeansAmericais

buryingupto$1.83billionworthofmetalperyear.Atkinsestimatesthatthereis

nowmorealuminiuminUSlandfillsthancanbeproducedfromoresgloballyinone

year.Andit'snotonlyaluminiumthatishidingdowntherewiththeuseddiapers(尿

布)andgrocerybags.OnetonneofscrapfromdiscardedPCscontainsmoregold

thancanbeproducedfrom16tonnesofore,hesays.Andtheworldthrowsaway18
