ThismanualcontainsacollectionoftutorialsandpracticalinformationforlearningthebasicsandadvancedfeaturesofGiD,

coveringfullflowofGiDuserfrompreprocessingtopostprocessinggoingthroughmeshing,analysisandintroductionto

customization.

Inordertofollowsomeofthetutorialsincludedinthismanualsomefilesshouldbedownloaded.

ThemodelsarelocatedinGiDofficialwebpageinSupport->Manualssection.

Themodelsarepackedinazipfileandclassifiedbychapters.

ThephilosophyofthistutorialistogetfamiliarizedwithGiD:howtochangetheviewsofthemodel,howtomanagethe

Layers,andotherbasicfeatures.SomeofthisfeaturesarebothinthepreprocessingandthepostprocessingpartsofGiD,

althoughtheexamplesshownarefromthepreprocessingone.

Manytimesthetextwillmakereferenceto'entities'.Almostalltheoptionsexplainedinthistutorialarevalidbothfor

geometricalandmeshentities,althoughtheexamplesusedareoftengeometricalones.

ThetopicsinthistutorialarefurtherexplainedintheReferenceManual.Wehaveselectedsomeofthebasicfeaturesto

givetotheusersomebasictipstostartworkingwithGiDandmaketherestofthetutorials.
